The NFL Draft is set for late April, and one of the most intriguing position groups this year is wide receiver. While the class may not feature the same elite top-end names as in recent years, its depth gives teams a chance to find strong value in the later rounds.
The two standout names in this class are Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan. McMillan, in particular, has sparked plenty of debate in recent days following a comment about not watching football — a remark that could cause him to slide outside the top 10 in the Draft.
Despite the controversy, a former NFL quarterback and current analyst made a bold comparison between McMillan and two of the league’s star receivers — and believes he has the tools to become a major name at the position.

Dan Orlovsky Believes Tetairoa McMillan Is a Mix of CeeDee Lamb and Drake London
During ESPN NFL Live, analyst Field Yates projected McMillan to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 12 overall pick in the draft.
Dan Orlovsky — a former quarterback who spent 13 seasons in the NFL — followed up by comparing the Arizona State receiver to two other NFL stars.

“Love the pick. If you told Cowboys fans that you’re going to get CeeDee Lamb and Drake London, would you take that? That’s kind of what his game is like. Ball skills are off the charts. He’s kind of versatile. He’s not just an outside guy. You can play him a little bit on the inside and it’s completely opposite of what CeeDee Lamb is talent-wise.”
The comparison makes sense, as Lamb is a quick, precise route-runner with great hands, while London brings a physical element to the game with his length and size. In fact, McMillan and London share the same height — both standing at 6’4″ — which reinforces the comparison, especially when considering their catch radius and physical presence on the field.
Orlovsky added, “And for me, it’s the first guy I think since T.O. that goes to the Cowboys who has that big frame. They haven’t really had a big frame. Look at these guys when it comes to the size and the history within the Cowboys organization. I love the pick. And I think the Cowboys, if this is the pick, will be sneakily better than people expect.”
CeeDee Lamb Likes the Idea of Dallas Adding Another Wide Receiver
The possibility of Dallas selecting another wide receiver in the draft is very real — and Lamb seems to be on board with the idea. Lamb spoke with RG.org contributor DJ Siddiqi on March 4 and said he doesn’t have a name in mind, but wants someone to come in and plug in the system.
“Just looking for a great complement. I’m not really pressed about having whoever. It doesn’t matter, as long as you come here ready to work, I’m excited to teach you, excited to work and just gradually gravitate towards instilling you in this offense. It’s gonna be fun with whoever.”
Even without naming anyone specifically, Lamb made a point to highlight McMillan as one of the players he likes — and someone he’d enjoy lining up alongside.
“There’s a bunch of pieces that stood out. I like T-Mac [McMillan] from Arizona for one. I like Luther [Burden III] from Missouri. The list could go on. I like Emeka from Ohio State and Tez Johnson [from Oregon].”
And it’s not just Lamb who would welcome another wide receiver in the room. Stephen Jones, co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys, said the team is actively exploring options at the position and would like to add a player with explosive potential to the roster.
“We’re still open to looking at a really explosive number two that could upgrade us,” Jones said, via staff writer Tommy Yarrish. “But as I said, I like our room and certainly like the players we currently have.”
Dallas’ current front office is known for making splashy moves on Draft Night — having selected Ezekiel Elliott, Lamb, and Micah Parsons in recent years. With strong internal support and the possibility of McMillan slipping in the draft, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the franchise seriously consider him if the opportunity presents itself.
