The value of wide receivers varies perhaps more than any other position when you change from non-PPR to PPR scoring or vice versa. Therefore, it can be tough to gauge which players to draft if you are switching across and out of your comfort zone. Equally, with more and more analysis angled toward the PPR format, knowing what to do in non-PPR can be tough.

Worry not, however. With PFN’s consensus WR fantasy football rankings, we have done all the hard work to make your life easy. All you have to do is compare our rankings to your site’s ADP and then identify where the best value at the position may occur in your drafts. That should help you devise a robust plan for your fantasy drafts in 2024.

The rankings below are a consensus of our three fantasy experts, Derek Tate, Jason Katz, and Kyle Soppe. Between them, they have over two decades of fantasy football writing experience and are constantly analyzing the latest news and data to ensure our rankings are up to date. These rankings also provide the basis for PFN’s “Who Should I Draft” tool,  Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, and Trade Value Charts.

Who Are the Best Wide Receivers To Draft in Fantasy?

    Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

If there is one knock on Ja’Marr Chase’s fantasy profile, he’s been a bit more boom/bust than we’d like from an elite WR1.

Guys like Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, and CeeDee Lamb rarely completely disappoint. Their ceilings are just as high as Chase’s, but Chase has a lower weekly floor.

Over the past two seasons (28 games total), Chase has obviously been a WR1, but he’s scored below 13 fantasy points 13 times. To be fair, he’s also scored over 28 fantasy points five times, including three games of 32+ points and an absurd 52-pointer in Week 5 of last season. Even if we go back to Chase’s rookie season, the pattern is the same.

This is what keeps Chase ever so slightly below Hill and Lamb for me. It would also keep him behind Jefferson, but Jefferson lost Kirk Cousins. J.J. McCarthy could end up being incredible. But until we see it, I feel more comfortable with the equally elite talent catching passes from Burrow.

Chase is a surefire first-round pick in 2024 fantasy drafts. I do think there is a case to take him No. 1 overall. However, given what we saw from Hill and Lamb last season, Chase checks in as my WR3.

    Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers

With just one DNP over the past three seasons, the availability grades out as a strength, something you very much want to have in any player you’re taking in the first three rounds. Brandon Aiyuk is being drafted as a solid WR2 in the middle of the third round, and I think that’s about right.

That lands him in the Michael Pittman Jr., Stefon Diggs, DJ Moore, and Mike Evans tier at the position. I like him smack dab in the middle of that range (behind Pittman and Moore, ahead of Diggs and Evans), making him a nice situational buy.

I find myself often going WR-RB-WR to open drafts, which means picking from this class to fill my WR2 roster slot. That said, if I liked the value of a pair of receivers with my first two picks, I’m opting for a bell-cow back in the Derrick Henry range over Aiyuk.

With the potential for extreme regression, Aiyuk isn’t highlighted on my cheat sheet as a must-target player at his current cost, but that’s not to say that I’m actively avoiding San Francisco’s WR1 either.
