Rashee Rice has appeared in just 12 games over the past two seasons after a standout rookie campaign (79 catches for 938 yards and 7 touchdowns) and this offseason didn’t get off to the greatest of starts with him rehabbing his bulky knee inside of a prison cell.
The health boxes seem to be checked as we prepare for kickoff and that enters Kansas City’s top pass catcher into the WR1 fantasy football conversation, especially in PPR formats.
Should I Draft Rashee Rice in Fantasy Football?
This offense hasn’t been the same over the past few years. Patrick Mahomes was masking a lot of flaws last season with his mobility, but that seems less likely for this year as he recovers from the torn ACL.
If that premise proves accurate, it’s easy to see Andy Reid making this a quick strike attack that leans right into Rice’s strongest trait: getting open in a hurry.

Kenneth Walker III was brought to town this offseason in an effort to give this team some single-play upside on the ground, and I can’t think of a better person for the job. We can agree that the Xavier Worthy developmental process hasn’t gone according to plan and with Travis Kelce being another year older.

Rice is set to assume both quality and quality in the target department, a profile that lands him firmly in the PPR WR1 discussion, even with all of the moving pieces that he has dealt with this summer.
The WR position is as deep as it’s been in sometime and that allows us the luxury of waiting. If you are able to grab a Tier 1 running back in the first round, I’m looking to go WR-WR as Round 2 concludes and Round 3 starts: if Rice is available, he makes for an easy high-floor click.
