There are four positions in fantasy football where managers can get by without a weekly startable option on their regular roster. QB, TE, Kicker, and Defense all lend themselves to streaming. Here are our top streaming options for Week 14.
All streamers are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues unless otherwise stated. In-depth stats courtesy of Pro Football Reference.
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. IND)
Trevor Lawrence is 53% rostered in Yahoo leagues, but is worth noting as the best option available on waivers. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback has recorded four top-12 fantasy weeks in five games since the team’s Week 8 bye.
He faces the Indianapolis Colts, who are more than capable of pushing the score up, as the top-ranked offense in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, giving this game shootout potential.
Tyrod Taylor, QB, New York Jets (vs. MIA)
Tyrod Taylor has immediately elevated the New York Jets’ offense and made several of his teammates fantasy-relevant in the process. The veteran is also a solid fantasy option himself and recorded his second top-nine fantasy finish in just his third start of the season on Sunday.
Taylor doesn’t possess Justin Fields’ elite fantasy ceiling, but he is a reliable quarterback with great mobility, highlighted by his 44 yards and a score on the ground in Week 13.
Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens (vs. PIT)
Since returning from injury, Lamar Jackson has tried to get Isaiah Likely more involved in the offense, but things weren’t clicking before Week 13. On Thanksgiving, though, the pair connected for five completions and 95 yards through the air against the Cincinnati Bengals.
This weekend, Likely faces the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game (247.4) and the sixth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends (16.1). Then, in Week 15, he faces the Bengals defense again, which ranks dead last in passing yards allowed per game (256.8) and fantasy points allowed per game to tight ends (23.7).
Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. IND)
Brenton Strange escaped our consciousness while sidelined for five games through injury. In his two games back, though, he has recorded 27.8 total PPR points and two consecutive top-seven fantasy finishes.
Parker Washington is questionable for this weekend, after leaving Week 13 early with a hip injury, making Strange a great bet for another great fantasy week against the Colts.
Darren Waller, TE, Miami Dolphins (at NYJ)
Darren Waller is just one game into his own return from injury, and has immediately taken on a valuable role in the Miami Dolphins’ offense. In his three healthy games before his injury, Waller totaled 10 catches for 117 yards and four touchdowns on 12 targets.
He didn’t score in his first game back, but was targeted in the end zone, suggesting his next touchdown isn’t far away. The Dolphins should be able to score on the Jets, and Waller will be a big part of their red-zone offense.
Will Lutz, K, Denver Broncos (at LVR)
Will Lutz is a reliable kicker and is coming off back-to-back top-11 fantasy finishes. The Denver Broncos are looking for their 10th consecutive win against the Las Vegas Raiders, and should be able to control the game from the start.
The Raiders have disappointed on both sides of the ball this season, while the Broncos’ elite defense should cause Geno Smith nightmares. Also, Lutz ticks the important box of playing in a dome this weekend, something that shouldn’t be overlooked this time of year.
Zane Gonzalez, K, Atlanta Falcons (vs. SEA)
Zane Gonzalez has missed just one of his 17 kicks for the Atlanta Falcons since making his debut for the team in Week 10. In four games, the kicker has tallied two top-five fantasy finishes and has a good opportunity to do well this week, too.
The Falcons are hoping to have Drake London back from injury for this game, which would be a huge help against the elite Seattle Seahawks defense. Atlanta is at home, so, like Lutz, Gonzalez won’t need to worry about the weather this week.
Washington Commanders DEF (at MIN)
The Washington Commanders are not a defense I would have predicted I’d be recommending in fantasy anytime soon, but streaming is all about matchups. This week, Washington faces the Minnesota Vikings, whose offense has turned the ball over 13 times over the last four weeks.
J.J. McCarthy is expected to return from a concussion, which will do little to ease the minds of Vikings fans, regardless of how awful Max Brosmer was against Seattle on Sunday. The Commanders’ defense showed signs of improvement in their overtime loss to the Broncos on Sunday night and will be confident of disrupting the Vikings on the road.
Miami Dolphins DEF (at NYJ)
The Miami Dolphins are another team whose defense isn’t an obvious choice, but Anthony Weaver’s men have produced for fantasy in recent weeks. The Dolphins’ defense is coming off its third consecutive top-eight fantasy finish, and its fourth in five games.
The Jets offense is performing better with Taylor at quarterback, but is still more than capable of committing a turnover or two.
