Navigating the quarterback position is one of the trickiest parts of fantasy football. Week 1 saw some unexpected outcomes, with established veterans and young gunslingers having varied success. As we head into Week 2, several quarterbacks find themselves in interesting situations. These are the players who could either win you the week or leave you questioning your decisions.
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. SEA)
Passing offenses can be rusty to open the season, with limited reps afforded to starters in the preseason. Aaron Rodgers’ lengthy delay in signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers threatened to hinder the offense further, but there was no sign of that in Week 1.
Rodgers made a statement on his return to New York, dicing the New York Jets defense for four touchdown throws in a 34-32 Steelers win. Despite no longer possessing the mobility he once did, Rodgers tallied 25.7 fantasy points.

The Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, which won’t be easy, but the four-time league MVP looks like a man who means business in 2025.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (at TEN)
Matthew Stafford’s 13.6 fantasy points in Week 1 won’t inspire fantasy managers to rush to the waiver wire, but there were plenty of reasons to expect a slow start. Stafford missed the majority of the preseason with a concerning back injury, missing valuable practice reps with new star receiver Davante Adams.
That’s not ideal preparation for facing one of the league’s best pass defenses, the Houston Texans, but Stafford made it work, and the Los Angeles Rams came out on top. This weekend, the Rams take on the Tennessee Titans in what is a far friendlier matchup on paper.

The Titans gave up 20 points to the Denver Broncos in Week 1, despite Bo Nix looking well short of his best. With another week of practice, a more favorable matchup should allow Stafford to flourish in Week 2.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers (at ARI)
Bryce Young did little to prove people wrong in Week 1, as the Carolina Panthers’ offense struggled to get going against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Young was the 25th quarterback taken in fantasy drafts this year, and his inclusion on this list is sure to raise eyebrows.
But Young showed last season that he can be a top fantasy asset, with an explosive showing down the stretch with both his arm and his legs. The late trade away of veteran receiver Adam Thielen no doubt impacted the quarterback in Week 1.

Thielen had been Young’s favorite target in Carolina, and the Panthers’ receiver room is now incredibly inexperienced. Young will need to build trusted relationships with his receiver room quickly, but the Panthers still offer shootout potential every week.
This week, Young faces a strong Arizona Cardinals defense, but being forced to scramble more often could help his fantasy production. Young did too much last year to be given up on already, and the Panthers may need him to put the team on his back this weekend.
