Marvin Mims Jr. Injury Update

Mims tweaked his groin during the Broncos’ Wednesday practice, forcing an early exit. Head coach Sean Payton has already addressed concerns, indicating that Mims should be back on the field for Monday’s session and that the injury is not considered serious.

The Broncos, “not overly concerned,” are expected to play it cautiously but fully expect Mims to suit up for Week 1.

Notably, this isn’t Mims’ first soft tissue scare, and Denver’s staff has been clear about not rushing players back in preseason. As soon as Payton publicly notes a timetable for return, fantasy managers can be reasonably confident that a setback is unlikely.

Marvin Mims Jr. Fantasy Outlook

Mims stands out as one of the most efficient receivers in the NFL: he ranked near the top of the league in yards per route run and explosive plays per target in his previous campaign. With Bo Nix looking like one of the better quarterbacks in the league and no clear WR2 behind Courtland Sutton, Mims has the potential to outperform his ADP this season.

Marvin Mims Injury Update: Latest News After the Broncos WR Got Hurt During Practice

If Mims were to miss time or see his snap count limited out of the gate, rookie Pat Bryant and sophomore Troy Franklin are the names to watch for Denver. Bryant has impressed in limited preseason work, and Franklin, already listed among the top three receivers, would likely become the main beneficiary in two-WR sets.

However, fantasy football managers can take Payton at his word: with Mims projected to return quickly and the team downplaying the groin tweak, there is no reason to alter your draft plans.

Barring a setback, expect Mims to be available and ready to build on his efficiency, which makes him a strong late-round WR3/4 target with real upside if his usage increases in 2025.
