After an uneven 2025 season in Arizona that saw him miss 12 games, Kyler Murray’s age-29 season will come in Minnesota, marking his first franchise change. For those doubting his fantasy ceiling, remember that 2024 wasn’t long ago at all: he threw for over 3,800 yards while running for 572 yards and five scores.
Should I Draft Kyler Murray in Fantasy Football?
This Minnesota offense can support him provided that he can clean up what we saw a season ago. Justin Jefferson has a very real argument as to being the best receiver in the sport, that didn’t change because of the JJ McCarthy experience that was 2025. Alongside him, Jordan Addison offers massive single-play upside, and Jauan Jennings was a nice addition to the passing attack.
At tight end, TJ Hockenson isn’t a superstar, but he’s stable over the middle of the field, and that’s enough if the WR room is intact. Throw in the benefit of indoor home games, the reality that the heavily competitive NFC North is going to require a ton of scoring to keep pace, and the offensive environment is solid.

I don’t think Murray is the safest of options given the recent missed time, but I do think he’s a highly viable option for those who prefer to wait on the quarterback position. The elite rushing numbers won’t last forever, and his absolute athletic peak is behind him, but I’m not too worried about a sharp decline this year.
At his current draft cost, you can simply pay for his career baseline numbers: roughly 7.0 yards per pass attempt and a handful of rushing touchdowns. This strong depth chart leaves the door wide open for the peak version of his passing numbers, exactly like we saw when DeAndre Hopkins was the dominant WR1 under Murray early in his career.
This is a low-risk, high-reward bet, and that is the pick profile that fantasy champions make a habit of targeting. If he pans out, you’ve lapped the field in QB value, and if not, you haven’t thrown away your season. If you want to pair him with another dart throw (Malik Willis comes to mind), this is one of the instances where I’d green light leaving your draft room with two signal callers.
