Jayden Reed remains one of the most intriguing fantasy football storylines as the Packers inch closer to a decision on his return. The second-year wideout has been sidelined for months, and while the team has stayed quiet about the specifics, reports suggest he’s nearing full speed.
Green Bay’s cautious optimism has fantasy managers wondering if a late-season spark is coming just in time for the playoffs. His potential return could shake up target shares in this unpredictable Packers offense.
Jayden Reed Injury Update
The Green Bay Packers opened up Reed’s 21-day return window from the injured reserve on Nov. 21, which allowed Reed to log limited practices ahead of the team’s Thursday matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 13, even though the veteran receiver was not expected to play. Reed has been out since September after having surgery on a broken collarbone and an unrelated foot injury he suffered during the summer.
On Monday, Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur stated that the Packers would continue to ramp up Reed’s workload while the team waits for medical clearance for Reed to return to the field. The team has until Dec. 12 to make a final decision on Reed’s status, but there is a chance he can return to face off against the Chicago Bears in Week 14.

Reed Fantasy Outlook
The Packers opened up Reed’s (collarbone) 21-day practice window in the middle of November, and prevailing wisdom is that he takes the field for this huge NFC North battle.Â
This is a player that is going to be hard to trust in an offense that spreads it around, but don’t forget that Reed was battling a foot injury before the collarbone injury, and that means that we could be getting as good a version of Reed as possible once he returns.

No player in this offense has established himself as a strong target earner, thus leaving the door wide open for Reed to put himself in the PPR flex conversation the second he is officially ruled active.
I still prefer Christian Watson if we are stacking Packer pass catchers, but the case can be made for Reed if you’re backed into a corner.
