Dak Prescott enters the 2026 fantasy football season commanding an offensive machine that you can implicitly trust, even if his personal rushing production is nowhere close to what it used to be. The primary driver of his current fantasy value is elite, high-volume passing consistency. In fact, Prescott has thrown for 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in each of his past four seasons with over 12 games played.
Should I Draft Dak Prescott in Fantasy Football?
The surrounding weapons are truly what elevate his weekly floor/ceiling. The addition of George Pickens was massive last season, and his fantasy stock absolutely soared following CeeDee Lamb’s injury. The deep connection Pickens established with Prescott over that stretch opens the door for a peak Bengals-type of season, giving Dallas a dominant perimeter duo akin to Joe Burrow throwing to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Beyond the receiving corps, the front office made sure to stabilize the ground game. Javonte Williams was highly productive in this scheme last season, and bringing him back to give this unit necessary balance is huge. That credible threat on the ground actively opens up passing lanes that make containing the Lamb/Pickens tandem near impossible.

Case in point: last season was his best in terms of play-action passer rating, logging 14 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions on 166 such attempts. Draft Prescott confidently as a highly reliable, top-tier QB1 whose elite passing volume completely makes up for his lack of rushing equity.
It’s a unique path to reliability in 2026, but this is a unique situation. Joe Burrow is the only pocket-oriented QB I prefer this season and he’s the one I want if I’m going this direction. I don’t think Prescott is a bad click, but I do think his profile is a little more flimsy because he has fewer production levers to pull.
That said, there’s a buying point for everyone and this is one of the best situations in the league. We saw him survive a season with injuries to Lamb and if he can do that, it’s easy to fall in love with the idea that 2026 Prescott could be 2025 Matthew Stafford.
