The Denver Broncos raised eyebrows in 2024 when they took Bo Nix, the sixth quarterback taken in the draft, at No. 12 overall. After one year, that pick looks to have been a great decision, as the former Oregon quarterback led Denver to the playoffs in his first NFL season.
Nix’s stellar rookie campaign translated beautifully to fantasy football, as he finished the year as the QB8 in points per game (minimum 10 games). That appears to have prompted significant trade interest in Nix in dynasty leagues this offseason.
No qualified quarterback (minimum 500 trade inclusions since May 1) has seen a higher rate of acquisition in PFSN’s Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer than Nix (60.9%). But what is Nix’s value in dynasty, and should managers actively pursue the Broncos’ quarterback or cash in on his current value?
PFSN Trade Analyzer Users Are Bullish on Bo Nix
The fantasy football interest in Nix is understandable; young, mobile quarterbacks with job security, in high-level coaching environments, are hard to come by. And if Nix continues at his 2024 pace, he could be a cornerstone of dynasty rosters for years to come.
It can take years to land a solid quarterback option in rookie drafts, time that could be used far more efficiently with your QB situation locked up.
Another reason to be high on Nix is the way he finished his rookie year. Linking a quarterback’s rushing ability to his fantasy value is standard practice. Nix’s fantasy value actually rose significantly, though, when he stopped relying on his legs in 2024.
From Weeks 1-9, Nix averaged 32.8 rushing yards per game and tallied four rushing touchdowns. From Week 10 onward, he averaged just 16.9 rushing yards with no scores.
Nix threw eight touchdowns in those opening nine games, but 21 over the following eight matchups, with his average fantasy points per game jumping from 17.4 to 21.6. For context, Jayden Daniels finished the year as the QB5 overall, with an average of 21.5 points per game in fantasy.

Nix accomplished that despite a lackluster run game and an average wide receiver room outside of Courtland Sutton. This offseason, the Broncos invested heavily in running backs and signed top receiving tight end Evan Engram to give Nix another reliable target.
It’s important not to get carried away when a young player breaks out. Teams will adjust, and things may get harder the following year. That being said, Nix’s improvement throughout the year, the improved supporting cast, and his extensive experience in college suggest that 2024 was more than a flash in the pan.
Should Fantasy Managers Trade for Nix?
I’ll focus on Superflex leagues for this evaluation, as that’s where quarterback value really peaks. Deciding whether to trade for a player always hinges on the price your league mate is willing to sell for, so a move for Nix may not always be feasible. That being said, you should absolutely be enquiring about him if you need a quarterback.
There are still those who doubt Nix’s ability, making him a far more attainable target than some of the other top NFL quarterbacks. According to PFSN’s trade analyzer, Geno Smith, alongside Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice, could be enough to land the Broncos quarterback. Parting with a player of Rice’s ability and potential is never an easy decision, but you have to give something to get something.

If you’re a definite contender, a cheaper veteran option like Jared Goff or Dak Prescott may be the better route, rather than giving up a key asset. For any team with a QB need, though, Nix is a great option for both the long and short term, and should serve as the foundation for your team moving forward.
