Despite an early catch in the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 4 Thursday Night Football matchup, second-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.’s struggles have continued into another week. The former Ohio State Buckeye had yet another tough drop that was more costly than the one in Week 3, and NFL analysts and fans are sounding off on social media.
NFL Fans Call Out Marvin Harrison Jr.
After a tough drop in the second half of the Cardinals’ Week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, there was discussion of getting Harrison going earlier in the game. While the Cardinals got him an eight-yard completion on the first drive, QB Kyler Murray has not been able to find him again on his other three targets.
He then had another costly drop in the second quarter, which Ernest Jones IV intercepted. The drops are puzzling, as expectations were very high for Harrison coming into the league. NFL Network Tom Pelissero posted the highlight, saying, “The struggles of Marvin Harrison Jr. continue to cost the #Cardinals.”

Buffalo Bills reporter and Pat McAfee Show guest Sal Capaccio asked the question most of us were thinking when the second-year wideout dropped the ball, “What happened to Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Hands?!”

Another fan pointed out that, despite the hype, Harrison hasn’t been nearly as consistent as some of the other wideouts from his class, saying, “MHJ has been the most inconsistent WR in his draft class. Rome [Odunze] and [Malik] Nabers are the clear winners of that class.”

Harrison’s nightmare start to the season continues. After scoring a touchdown in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, he has struggled mightily to maintain any chemistry with Murray.
Given the loss of running back James Conner in Week 3, it’s even more imperative for the Cardinals to get the 2024 fourth-overall pick going. In Weeks 2 and 3, Harrison caught five of 11 targets for 71 yards. Something has to change and fast as the Cardinals were down 14-3 at halftime against the Seahawks.
