NFL Fans Call Jameson Williams ‘Brick Hands’ After Lions WR’s Massive Drop vs. Packers on Thanksgiving

Detroit Lions star wide receiver Jameson Williams had a crucial drop late in the loss to the Packers, and the fans put him on blast.

The Detroit Lions will live and die by their aggressiveness. Sometimes, however, it has come back to haunt them.

That was the case in their 31-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers. They chose to go for it deep into Packers territory while down ten points and with nearly eleven minutes left on the clock. Jameson Williams couldn’t hold onto the ball, and the Lions turned it over on downs.

Fans Rip Jameson Williams After Crucial Drop

Facing 4th-and-3 from the Packers’ 19-yard line, Goff found a wide-open Williams. The pass was slightly behind, but it still hit him in the hands before he dropped it.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans took to social media to mock and criticize the former Alabama standout:

“Jameson Williams BRICK HANDS,” one fan wrote.

“Wow Jameson Williams I’m Speechless,” another one added.

“LMAOOOO there’s the Jameson Williams we know,” another one said.

“Jameson Williams still isn’t good at football,” one fan said, bluntly.

“Jameson Williams is so bad,” another one concurred.

“Maybe Jameson Williams should focus more on catching the ball instead of taunting,” another one said with a laughing face emoji.

“Aggressive 4th down call and an awful drop from Jameson Williams,” another fan argued.

“LMFAO,” another fan added.

It had actually been a pretty good game for Williams. With Amon-Ra St. Brown leaving the game early with an injury and TE Sam LaPorta on Injured Reserve, Williams stepped up as Goff’s primary target in the passing game.

He had seven receptions on ten targets for 144 yards and a touchdown, and he also had a couple of crucial big plays to keep the chains in motion. For the season, he’s up to 706 receiving yards, six touchdowns, and a PFSN impact metric of 76.3, which ranks 38th in the league.

Still, drops have always been an issue with him. He’s now up to six drops for the season, and this one came in the worst possible time.

The Lions could’ve opted to take the field goal as they were down by two scores, and they would’ve been in a better position to tie the game in the next drive, ultimately. However, Dan Campbell’s aggressiveness cost the team when it mattered the most.

The Lions have now fallen to 7-4 for the season and wasted the perfect opportunity not only to avenge their loss to the Packers in the season opener but also to potentially take the lead in the division from the Chicago Bears.

They’ll now host the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football.
