Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has suffered an injury every season since his breakout rookie campaign, and his misfortune continued in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Dobbins was on track to set new career highs before suffering a foot injury that once again derailed his momentum.
With his return now unlikely this season, fans have grown increasingly critical and are even mocking the former Baltimore Ravens running back.
Fans Roast J.K. Dobbins Over Another Potential Half-Season Break
Dobbins managed to stay healthy through the first half of the season, but his momentum stalled after he was caught in a hip-drop tackle during Denver’s 10–7 win over the Raiders in Week 10.
Although he returned and finished the game with 77 yards on 18 carries, further evaluation revealed a significant foot injury requiring surgery. The Broncos placed him on injured reserve soon after.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Dobbins is likely done for the year, though one source claimed he could return by February if Denver reaches the Super Bowl. Fans, however, weren’t buying it.
“Yeah, we’ll see ya next September, buddy,” analyst Jacob Infante joked.
Another mocked, “‘Broncos’ and ‘Super Bowl’? Yeah, go ahead and book those vacation plans.” A third chimed in: “Don’t think we have to worry about that one.”
One fan posted a picture of former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo with the caption, “If the Broncos make the Super Bowl.”
Major setbacks have plagued Dobbins’ career. He first tore his ACL in the preseason of his sophomore season and missed the entire season. While he was productive after that, a 2023 Achilles tear set him back and ended his time in Baltimore.
After making a full recovery, he joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and was regaining his past form before an MCL sprain forced him to miss four games. Signing a one-year deal with Denver this offseason, he became the team’s leading rusher with 772 yards and four touchdowns, only to be sidelined yet again.
With the Broncos lacking a dependable backup, fans also mocked the notion of the team contending without him. “LMFAO, they’re not making the Super Bowl,” one user laughed.
Another wrote, “They can barely get a first down with Bo, let alone a Super Bowl.” “Pretty optimistic there,” taunted another.
Despite the constant injuries, Dobbins’ talent has never been questioned as he ranks 14th on PFSN’s RB Impact metric, but his availability remains his biggest hurdle, having missed eight more games than he has played across five seasons.
His absence opens the door for rookie R.J. Harvey, who has yet to be fully featured in the run game but has proven effective as a receiver with 175 yards and four touchdowns on 25 catches in addition to two rushing scores.
