‘Guilty Of Being Stupid’ — Ex-NFL LB Makes Feelings Clear On Stefon Diggs’ Criminal Case Verdict

Emmanuel Acho didn't hold back on his assessment of Stefon Diggs' criminal case, and called the star receiver "guilty of being stupid."

Earlier this week, Stefon Diggs walked out of a Massachusetts courtroom as a free man, as he was cleared of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges stemming from an alleged December 2025 dispute with his personal chef.

The 32-year-old wide receiver, who was released by the New England Patriots in March after one productive season, remains unsigned in free agency. With the legal issues resolved, Diggs’ return to the NFL seems much more attainable now.

Emmanuel Acho Calls Stefon Diggs ‘Guilty of Being Stupid’

The case was around an incident that took place in December 2025, at Diggs’ house, where Jamila Adams, who previously worked as a live-in personal chef, testified that the NFL star slapped and choked her during an argument.

Diggs’ legal team denied that the assault occurred and challenged Adams’ credibility, citing her financial demands and testimony from friends and employees who stated she showed no signs of injury days after the alleged event.

After the verdict, former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho weighed in on his YouTube show “Speakeasy,” and offered a blunt take about the whole situation.

“Congratulations to Stefon Diggs,” Acho said. “Congratulations to his team on a non-guilty verdict. But on a bigger picture, it’s really just a sad situation. Stefon Diggs is guilty of being stupid. That’s all he’s guilty of… When I think about the prosecution, and when I think about the accuser, she ain’t prep at all. She ain’t watched one episode of Judge Judy, Judge Matthis, Judge Joe Brown, ain’t watched one episode of nothing.”

“Like, how you finna [going to] to take the stand and be emotionally volatile, be incoherent, continue to lean into ‘I don’t understand the question’ several times,” he added. “Like, was there no preparation training at all?… So, I’ll say that because that was just absolutely wild just listening to this case. She should be embarrassed. It was embarrassing.”

With the legal matter resolved, Diggs could soon find a new home or return to his old one. The Patriots remain a logical fit, as they released him mainly due to the $26.5 million cap hit rather than concerns about his play.

Diggs led New England with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and 4 touchdowns during the 2025 regular season. In the playoffs, he had 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in four games. According to PFSN’s WR Impact Metric, Diggs posted an impact score of 87.0 last season and ranked as the fourth-best wideout in the league.

His rapport with quarterback Drake Maye was arguably the biggest factor in New England’s run to Super Bowl 60. A reunion on a shorter, cheaper deal would give the Patriots’ star back his most trusted target.
