Saquon Barkley Shares How Anna Congdon Helped Shape His NFL Journey

Barkley has been dating Congdon for nearly a decade now. Their relationship dates back to college when they first met at Penn State in 2016 and attended the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity formal together in December of that year.

The couple became social media official in February 2017 as second-semester freshmen. They have two children together: Jada Clare, who was born in 2018, and Saquon Jr., who was born in 2022.

This family of four is adorable, and Congdon will be right by Barkley’s side as he looks to continue his successful career in Philadelphia. The running back credits much of his success to having a stable foundation at home, something that became even more important during his transition from the New York Giants to the Eagles.

In an exclusive interview with E! News’ Francesca Amiker about his C4 energy partnership, Barkley opened up about Congdon’s impact on his personal and professional life.

“When I look at some of the moments, my highs, my lows, and my NFL career, one person that’s right next to me is my fiancée,” he said. “She’s been super helpful, and we’ve been able to create a beautiful family. No matter win, lose or draw, you get to come home.”

Congdon also has a sports background. She played basketball at Forest City Regional High School and was named the team’s captain in 2016 when they won their first district title in five years. She understands the demands of competitive athletics, which helps her support Barkley through the ups and downs of an NFL season.

Building a Legacy Beyond Football

One of the main reasons Barkley returned to college and finished his degree at Penn State in 2022 was to be a role model for his children. Of course, Congdon was one of his biggest supporters along the way. The decision showed both his commitment to education and his desire to set an example for Jada Clare and Saquon Jr.

Congdon has been there through every step of Barkley’s journey, from his college days at Penn State to his draft selection by the Giants and now his championship run with the Eagles. Her presence provides stability in a career filled with uncertainty and constant pressure to perform.

The Eagles extended Barkley’s stay following their Super Bowl victory. They handed him a two-year contract extension worth $41.2 million, making him the first running back in league history to have a $20 million-plus annual salary. The deal also has $36 million in guaranteed money and $15 million in incentives and escalators.

This contract represents more than just financial security for Barkley and his family. It validates his decision to leave the Giants and proves that his best years are still ahead of him. With Congdon by his side and two young children to motivate him, Barkley has found the perfect balance between his professional ambitions and personal happiness.

As Barkley continues to carve out his legacy in the NFL, moments like these remind us that his journey is fueled by more than just his elite talent. It’s about family, love, and the small but meaningful connections that keep him grounded while he chases greatness on the field.
