Drake Maye Shaves Head to Raise Funds for Boston Children’s Hospital

On Tuesday, the quarterback took part in an event to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital with the goal of benefiting cancer research. The annual event, named “Saving by Shaving,” raised $2,500 for everyone who shaved their head or donated at least eight inches of hair, donated by Granite Telecommunications.

For the young quarterback, it was an easy decision. His wife, Ann Michael Maye, started the process, with videos and pictures of Maye’s new look shared across social media.

After the event, the quarterback spoke with the media and gave his reasons for accepting his new look.

“Being able to shine a light in the community – a community that loves our football team and has given us so much support – that’s what it’s all about. It’s bigger than football and I am just glad I can be a part of it and spread awareness about such a great event,” Maye said.

“Dealing with children is one of the best things. They’re often times the biggest fans of us players, and I think it’s just such a cool experience to be able to shine a positive light and be there for them to help in any way we can.”

Maye’s off-field actions will only help his popularity with the fans. His on-field performances have been excellent, and he quickly took the Patriots back to the top of the conference. They’re now assured about their franchise quarterback, and with his third season approaching, there will be many more happy moments for Maye.

His 2025 performances did not go unnoticed by our PFSN NFL QB Impact metrics. In just his second season, he finished ranked No. 2 with a 91.1 grade, just behind Brock Purdy’s 92.1 grade. Maye finished the season with 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.

Being active in the community is a great way to make a difference, especially in the offseason. The future already looks bright for Drake Maye, but fans of the New England Patriots will be even happier to see him deeply involved in Foxboro.
