The Atlanta Falcons head into Sunday night’s primetime matchup against the Minnesota Vikings hungry for their first win after a gut-wrenching loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 23-20, when Younghoe Koo missed a 44-yard field goal attempt.
On top of the loss, Falcons wide receiver Drake London went down hard in the fourth quarter and left the game with a shoulder injury. Up to that point, he had been one of Michael Penix Jr.’s favorite targets, looking to him on 15 passes.
What is Drake London’s Status for Sunday Night?
London is off the Falcons’ injury report, and head coach Raheem Morris confirmed that he’s good to go for tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Even though the Falcons lost against the Bucs, they walked away with promising signs for their offense, starting with Penix. In just his fourth career start, he was fifth in the league in dropback EPA (12.2) per Next Gen Stats per ESPN. He completed 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns and added another score on the ground.
INJURY UPDATE: Raheem Morris says both Drake London and Darnell Mooney do not have an injury designation for Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Falcons should have their top two receivers for this prime-time matchup.

London caught eight of his 15 targets for 55 yards and no touchdowns, making it clear that Penix is looking his way this season. London had a breakout season in 2024, with 100 receptions for 1,271 yards and nine touchdowns, making him one of the top receivers in the NFL.
With London in the fold, Penix gets to keep one of his top weapons, and if he can connect more often, he’ll have more chances to break a big play.

However, the Vikings sport one of the league’s better defenses. They gave up a touchdown on their opening drive to Caleb Williams, who drove the Bears 10 plays and 61 yards with a 9-yard run for the TD. After that, they clamped down and gave up just 10 points the rest of the game. The Vikings forced six punts, got a turnover on downs, forced a missed field goal, and recovered a fumble on Chicago’s final desperation play.
London’s Fantasy Outlook
PFSN’s Kyle Soppe wrote this about London’s fantasy outlook for Week 2:
Nothing London did in Week 1 surprised me. We knew that he’d be in the mix for the most targeted player in the NFL, and he came through on that with 15 looks against the Bucs.
We also knew that there would be some growing pains shown by Penix, which is reflected in the repulsive 4.6 yards per target.
Use last week as a baseline. I think you can expect London to score 12 to 15 PPR points more often than not, understanding that tail performances will be a part of the story with a young QB under center.
