The Atlanta Falcons suffered a 30-27 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 11, marking their fifth straight defeat in the regular season. In addition to the poor result, the game saw Drake London sustain an injury.
With just minutes left, wide receiver Drake London exited with knee pain, concerning a team with a 3-7 record and fading playoff hopes. Updates suggest fans may wait a while for his return.
Drake London Could Be Out for Several Weeks
According to Ian Rapoport, sources said London has a PCL sprain and will miss Week 12 against New Orleans. In addition to missing the game against the Saints, the WR may end up missing several more weeks for the Falcons, missing key games in the Wild Card race.
London’s importance can be seen by analyzing his performance in Week 11, where he was the Falcons’ leading receiver, completing seven of nine passes for 119 yards. After he left the game with his injury, starting WR duties shifted to KhaDarel Hodge in overtime, who failed to complete his only pass attempt.

Losing London is a major blow for the Falcons, as he leads the team with 60 receptions, 810 yards, and six touchdowns this season. London (who currently ranks 12th in the PFSN WR Impact with a B grade) is one of the NFL’s top players by completion percentage and the team’s most consistent receiver. The next best, Darnell Mooney, has just 16 catches.
Falcons Suffer Key Injuries at Crucial Point in Regular Season
Raheem Morris had no updates post-game and before London’s MRI. The head coach did not appear too concerned as London was walking after overtime. The Falcons’ offense faces a setback as quarterback Michael Penix Jr. left the Panthers game with a lower-body injury, possibly worsening his knee condition.
Without their starting quarterback, Atlanta’s performance dropped considerably, as Kirk Cousins came in and accumulated only 87 yards, contributing only six points, which proved decisive in Carolina’s victory.
Currently in third place in the NFC South, injuries could prove decisive in ending their dreams of winning the division, leaving them behind the Panthers (6-5) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4).
