Dolphins reset WR room after trading Jaylen Waddle and releasing Tyreek Hill, leaving a young group led by Malik Washington.

The Miami Dolphins recently traded Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos as part of their ongoing rebuild. His departure joins Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill, who were both released during the 2026 NFL offseason.

Miami Dolphins WR Depth Chart After Jaylen Waddle Trade

Following the trade of Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins are reshaping their wide receiver room. Here’s a look at how the depth chart stacks up for the 2026 season.

WR 1 | Malik Washington

New quarterback Malik Willis, who was acquired from the Green Bay Packers, will have an inexperienced group of wide receivers to work with in the Dolphins.

Malik Washington is now the top wide receiver on the Dolphins depth chart following the Waddle trade. He finished 88th among all wide receivers in PFSN’s Impact Rankings last year and totaled just 317 receiving yards.

WR 2 | Jalen Tolbert

The Dolphins signed Jalen Tolbert in free agency this year to bring in some reinforcements for their depleted wide receiver room. He has spent his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys so far and has totaled 1,093 receiving yards across four seasons.

It will be interesting to see if he can take a step forward with a much larger workload, likely.

WR 3 | Tutu Atwell

Much like Tolbert, Tutu Atwell is heading to the Dolphins and is expected to serve in a much larger role than he has in his career.

He has totaled 1,535 receiving yards across four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, but he should see plenty of opportunities to contribute for the Dolphins with their current roster construction.

WR 4 | Theo Wease Jr.

Theo Wease Jr. was signed as an undrafted free agent last year and spent most of the season on the Dolphins’ practice squad. He totaled just six receptions during his rookie campaign, but without Waddle and Hill, he’s currently slotted for a considerable role in their offense.

Departing | Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill

Waddle and Hill have been one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL during their run with the Dolphins. This run is officially over after the team parted ways with both of them in their effort to rebuild their roster.

The franchise also fired Mike McDaniel and replaced him with Jeff Hafley as their new head coach.

He formerly served as the Packers’ defensive coordinator and is now getting his first opportunity as a head coach. He will do so with Willis as his quarterback after the two of them spent time together in Green Bay.

Other wide receivers currently on the roster for 2026:

  • Tahj Washington
  • Terrace Marshall Jr.
  • A.J. Henning
