Dolphins Predicted to Select KC Concepcion in 2026 NFL Draft to Replace Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill

KC Concepcion is linked to the Miami Dolphins as a potential replacement for star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The Miami Dolphins are finally tearing it down from the ground up. After parting ways with their head coach and general manager, they let go of three major cornerstones of the last half-decade in Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, and Tyreek Hill.

While the Dolphins are hoping that Malik Willis can be their long-term answer under center, they need more help around him. One analyst believes KC Concepcion could be an ideal choice for them in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Dolphins Begin New Era With Malik Willis

In one of the more shocking moves of the offseason, the Dolphins were able to bring in Willis on a relatively cheap contract at three years and $67.5 million. While it became clear that they would be rebuilding from the ground up, bringing in what many believed was the best available free agent quarterback was a good start for Miami.

But after parting ways with Hill and Waddle, the team needs the right playmakers to sustain an offense. The presence of De’Von Achane certainly helps matters, but he cannot be the only major factor in the passing attack.

As a result, Field Yates of ESPN, in his latest mock draft, has the team selecting Concepcion from Texas A&M. After starting his collegiate run at NC State, Concepcion moved to the Aggies in his final year and was immediately explosive.

Averaging 15.1 yards per reception, he totaled 919 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, ranking as the fourth-best wide receiver prospect in the draft, according to PFSN. Yates is clearly a big believer in his potential.

After adding Francis Mauigoa with the 11th overall pick, Yates has Miami finding its wide receiver replacement with the 30th overall pick, which the team acquired from the Denver Broncos in the trade for Waddle.

“Adding Concepcion would be a step in the right direction. He’s among the most explosive players in the class, hauling in 25 receiving touchdowns in just three seasons and taking two punt returns to the house in 2025.”

Alec Elijah of PFSN, though, is not sold on the idea. He believes Miami needs to focus exclusively on playmakers in the first round. As a result, the wide receiver the Dolphins select with the 11th overall pick is Makai Lemon, before doubling down on pass catchers by adding Kenyon Sadiq at number 30.

Concepcion, on the other hand, goes higher in his mock draft, as Elijah has the revamped Pittsburgh Steelers offense adding another dynamic weapon with the 21st overall pick.

A truly electric prospect during his time at the collegiate level, Concepcion should be a boost to any team that drafts him. But with a variety of teams undergoing full-scale revamps, there are several places where he could significantly impact an offense.
