Dolphins Star Jaylen Waddle Addresses Wild Rumor Following Tyreek Hill’s Departure From Miami

Jaylen Waddle shuts down trade rumors with one emoji after fake report goes viral. Why the Dolphins WR is key to Miami's rebuild.

Yesterday, the Miami Dolphins made a handful of moves to clean up their cap space. These moves needed to happen, no matter how good the players could be or how important they were to the team. After the moves were made, one of the Dolphins’ star players was the subject of many rumors about his future with the team.

WR Jaylen Waddle Addresses the Tyreek Hill Rumors

Looking at the moves Miami made yesterday, the players set to be released or already released are EDGE Bradley Chubb, WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, G James Daniels, and the top name on the list, WR Tyreek Hill. It was always likely that Hill would be a part of these moves, but it is still noteworthy.

Now, the Dolphins’ WR is bleak, but their other star pass catcher, Jaylen Waddle, is still on the roster, and Miami clearly values him. Back at the trade deadline, Waddle was a part of many trade conversations, but the Dolphins stayed put.

This was even when the Dolphins were clearly struggling, but it did not matter. Still, after all these moves, speculation spread that the 27-year-old dynamic WR could be on the move as well, and one report even said Waddle asked for a trade.

Well, that post was from a parody account, and despite that, it still went viral. Today, Waddle made sure to put all speculation to rest and addressed that fake report:

With just one emoji, Waddle was able to stop the rumors. The cap emoji is used when something is being called out for being false or a lie, and that’s what Waddle did here.

For the Dolphins’ future, Waddle is a needed piece for any short- or long-term success they want. It’s clear this team is rebuilding, and with QB Tua Tagovailoa also set to be off the team before next season, so many roster spots must be addressed.

So, if the Dolphins can just have one of them be decent for 2026, it will go a long way. Waddle is very much a WR1 in this league, and being 27, he still has great seasons ahead of him.

Even in Miami’s inconsistent offense and dealing with bad QB play, Waddle was able to finish as the 22nd WR in the PFSN WR Impact Metric. For whoever is the starting QB next season, Waddle will be a top weapon for them and could shine in a new offense.
