In arguably the most anticipated matchup of the Wild Card round, one of the oldest rivalries in NFL history was going to take center stage when the Green Bay Packers came to Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. However, early in the game, it looked like things were going wrong for the home team in a hurry.
On an opening script that lasted 15 plays and netted them three points, Chicago tried a bunch of complex motions and actions to move the ball down the field. However, it may have come at the cost of an injury to maybe their most experienced wide receiver on the roster, DJ Moore.
What Happened to DJ Moore?
Coming on huge late in the season, Moore has slowly become a larger part of the attack for the Bears in the last few weeks. But at the start of the opening drive, he was almost nowhere to be found, finding himself on the sideline more often than not.
That was because a screen pass to Luther Burden II saw the veteran wide receiver take on a blocking role. However, as two Packers defenders tried to bring Burden to a halt, Moore became collateral damage in the collision.
DJ Moore –
Lands awkwardly with his right knee slamming into the ground. Can’t quite tell if it’s his knee or ankle that bothers him more, but my guess is knee.
He’s back in now but hobbling a little bit. pic.twitter.com/QTgRijYJF7

Moore later returned to the game and was involved, as he had two receptions for 18 yards on the first drive. Coming in at number 73 on PFSN’s WR Impact, he has been a valuable contributor to the Bears’ offense that has become a hallmark of this team.
Tallying 682 receiving yards and six touchdowns on the year, Moore arguably scored the two best touchdowns of the entire NFL season in consecutive weeks, first against the Cleveland Browns, and the other to win in overtime against Green Bay.
However, it was a slow end of the season for Moore, who failed to tally 20 receiving yards in six of the last nine games of the year, severely hampering his counting stats.
