What’s The Latest On Dolphins RB De’Von Achane?

According to the Dolphins, Achane suffered a rib injury and has been listed as questionable for the rest of Sunday’s road game.

The Dolphins’ social media account on X posted an update on Achane’s condition as he was walking off the MetLife Stadium field.

Before leaving Sunday’s game, Achane had seven carries for 92 yards and one touchdown. Without Achane available, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will have to look for another back to help support the Miami offense. The Dolphins, though, held a 24-7 lead over the Jets late in the second quarter.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Achane has an impact score of 87.1 and grades out to a B+. For the season, Achane has 186 carries for 1,034 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 54 receptions for 370 receiving yards and four touchdown catches.

It’s safe to say that without Achane on the field, the Dolphins have lost a very important part of their offensive schemes. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will have to make sure that anyone who can replace Achane in some way, shape, or form can help the Miami run game effectively.

There is no replacing Achane. He’s been one of the best running backs this season. If Achane has to miss time, there is no clear replacement. It would be an ugly committee between Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright.

Gordon has been the RB2 most of the season, but Wright has been injured. The team has no allegiance to either back. The one receiving more touches would likely be the one playing better. Both would be worthwhile pickups in fantasy.

Miami fans will be watching the situation around Achane’s injury very closely at this time, too. The running back looks like he might not return on Sunday, though.
