Deion Sanders to Cleveland? Former NFL LB Urges Browns to Hire Coach Prime to ‘Get the Best Out of Shedeur’

With a vacant head coaching position, one analyst believes reuniting Deion Sanders with Shedeur Sanders is the best choice for the Browns.

The NFL has already experienced an offseason of change. The “Black Monday” moniker, infamous for its reputation, has already claimed many victims across the league. A host of teams that underperformed expectations or needed a change of scenery parted ways with key coordinators and head coaches on the sidelines.

One such team was the Cleveland Browns, who struggled to resolve their quarterback situation despite a spectacular showing from their defense. As a result, Kevin Stefanski was among the first names let go from the coaching ranks. Currently, there are no clear favorites for the role, but according to a former linebacker, one name that should be considered is Deion Sanders.

Cleveland Browns Hosting Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders Reunion

After starting the year with Joe Flacco, the Browns switched to Dillon Gabriel early in the season. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that he did not have the potential to be a high-ceiling starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL.

Then, after an injury, the position shifted to Sanders, who started seven consecutive games to close out the year. In those games, he threw for under 200 passing yards per game and recorded eight total touchdowns against nine interceptions.

Unsurprisingly, he was far from a standout as a fifth-round rookie, ranking as the third-worst player on PFSN’s QB Impact, ahead of only Jake Browning and Dillon Gabriel. But thanks to his charisma and unmatched popularity, a section of the football fan base has remained intrigued by him.

Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker turned media analyst Emmanuel Acho is one such personality. As a result, he is firmly on Sanders’ side of the equation, believing him to be the savior for Cleveland.

On the latest episode of Speakeasy, he proposed a solution that he believed could benefit both the young quarterback and the franchise as a whole. “If Shedeur is going to be the future, you can’t draft a quarterback, you can’t get [Fernando] Mendoza, it’s not a quarterback’s class. Who has always gotten the best out of Shedeur Sanders? Deion Sanders.”

The father-son duo has already been together in a head coach and quarterback capacity at the collegiate level, where they first found success at Jackson State before revitalizing the Colorado Buffaloes program alongside former Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

“He’s not necessarily a great X’s and O’s coach. He’s a great motivator of men. So get your X’s and O’s coach offensively and defensively, don’t let Jim Schwartz leave the building. Defense is solid, go get you an offensive coordinator that you think can win, and now, you’re fully invested in Shedeur.”

The entire idea of bringing in the former two-time Super Bowl champion would be centered on building around their fifth-round rookie. However, the upside hasn’t been consistent enough from the second-generation star for the Browns to hand over their entire operation to him.

While the idea and pairing could certainly make the team a box-office attraction and prime-time viewing, the shine could wear off in a hurry if they can’t produce the right results.
