Deion Sanders Has Blunt Response After Son, Shedeur, Asks Him to Attend Browns Game

The Sander͏s family’s football legacy continues to ͏unfold in Cleveland, but it’s Dei͏on͏ Sanders’ latest exchange with his ͏son, S͏hedeu͏r, that has captured every fan’s attention. A simple question ͏from Shedeu͏r͏ sparked a viral father-͏son moment that showed ͏Deion’s trademark mix of humor͏, honesty,͏ and tough love, leaving ͏De͏rek and Dav͏id Carr laughing in disbelief.

Deion Sanders Keeps It Real with His Son

During a recent conversation shared online, Shedeur asked his father, “When you coming to a game?” Without missing a beat, the two-time Super Bowl winner replied, “When you play. I’m not gonna come to see you sit.”

The blunt response, while lighthearted, reflected the high standards that Coach Prime continues to instill in his son, even as Shedeur begins his professional career with the Cleveland Browns.

According to CBS Colorado’s Romi Bean, Deion shared that Shedeur has handled his NFL transition with impressive maturity despite starting the season as the Browns’ third-string quarterback. “Shedeur’s doing good,” Deion said. “Mentally, emotionally, psychologically he’s doing good. He’s smiling, they can’t knock the smile off his face.” Also, October 11 is a very special day for Coach Prime. Today, in 1992, he played for the Falcons and the Braves! This Double Trouble is a feat that might never be repeated.

The younger Sanders might not be able to do what his father had accomplished. But he was drafted 144th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after an impressive stint at Colorado. He has maintained a positive attitude despite the challenges of adjusting to life in the league. As Deion explained, his son’s mindset remains unshaken even amid the scrutiny that comes with being the son of a football legend.

After starting the season as the team’s emergency quarterback, Shedeur has now been elevated to the active roster. The Cleveland Browns confirmed that he will serve as the backup for their Week 6 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking his first official week in uniform as QB2.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski emphasized the importance of readiness at every position: “That backup quarterback role is a little bit different… you have to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.” His comments highlight the trust Cleveland has begun to place in Shedeur’s preparation and professionalism.

Though he hasn’t yet seen game action, Shedeur’s steady progress and ͏patience reflect the ͏influence of ͏his father’s mentorship. Deion’s humor aside, his message underscores a deeper lesson͏ that success͏ in the NFL demands not͏ just talent but timing, humility, and͏ perseverance.͏

As Deion told CBS Colorado, “I can’t wait until he get his opportunity and he do his thing.” That moment may not be far away. For now, Shedeur’s elevation signals that the Browns believe he’s ready for the next step, even if his father is still waiting for that first start before making the trip to Cleveland.

    1. All of us with common sense know Shedeur is truly the “real” QB1; it doesn’t matter what Man says. Because God said so, it will be. Did you see how unprepared Gabriel was in Week 6 – just sad, smh. The least the Browns could have done was let Shedeur in temporarily to stop him from drowning and getting beaten down for a few moments. Unfortunately, they’re too busy trying to oppress and teach the QB2 lessons. That’s okay though…the fans know who deserves the QB1 spot, and they will soon begin to boo the current QB1 off the field to make room for the “true” QB who we already know deserves that spot. What God has for him is for him…and no one else. It doesn’t matter who wants/tries to take it away.

    2. That’s right Deion Primetime Sanders don’t go until Shedeur takes the field. Don’t give them anything to talk about. Everything your family say or do is news and money to them. They already making enough money off Shedeur.

    3. Amen prime time deep love no one will never no but God you and your mother as number 1 Sone every your boy & girls are the same keep on smiling stay powerful blessing to the world done that
