The 2025 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is expected to be a top-five selection. The New York Giants were a popular landing spot in many recent mock drafts, but the team signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency.
Shedeur’s Hall-of-Fame father, Deion Sanders, has been vocal during his son’s pre-draft process but recently had a fun moment talking about New York’s new quarterbacks.

Deion Sanders Jokes About Giants’ 2025 Pre-Game Prayers
Shedeur has settled into the QB2 spot behind Miami’s Cam Ward in this year’s class but has continued to be a media focal point. He was in the first-overall pick discussion as the offseason began, but Ward seemingly solidified himself as the first selection after an exceptional Pro Day performance.
The Colorado product is still expected to be drafted highly, with the Cleveland Browns and Giants rounding out the top three picks. Cleveland added Kenny Pickett this offseason but is still looking for its quarterback of the future. New York signed Winston early in free agency and appeared to still be in the quarterback market until they signed Wilson.
The Giants could still take Shedeur, and Deion feels the team’s pregame speeches will be must-see with the two veterans. Coach Prime and his son were recently on camera discussing New York’s quarterback room.
Coach Prime said that if Shedeur go to the Giants with Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson then the Pregame Prayer is going to be fire 😂

Deion laughingly said to his son, “If all them go to New York, they’re talking about the pregame prayer going to be fire with Russell and Jameis. The pregame prayer gonna be off the chain. You going to be getting baptized before the game.”
Wilson and Winston are well known for their motivational and leadership tactics. Wilson has caught some heat for being over-the-top, and Winston is known as an entertainer. The former first-overall pick had a hilarious pregame interview before his first time playing in the snow last season.
Shedeur’s professionalism was questioned after the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, but his leadership was never an issue at Colorado. He helped bring the Buffaloes back to national prominence in 2024, throwing for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns while completing 74% of his passes. That led all of FBS last season and made Sanders the all-time leader in FBS career completion percentage at 71.8%.
Deion just signed an extension to stay at Colorado for five more years, but he will likely be vocal about Shedeur’s NFL career, no matter who drafts him. It would be fun to be a fly on the wall of New York’s quarterback room next season, and Shedeur would add another level of media attention.
