LA Rams fans collectively held their breath when wide receiver Davante Adams pulled up on a seam route during the team’s 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions this past weekend. The veteran wideout never returned to the game, which raised many questions about his availability for their upcoming matchup.
When Will Rams WR Davante Adams Return to Action?
Adams carried a lot of question marks with his hamstring heading into their game against the Lions. While he managed to be very productive throughout the contest, his injury scare in the fourth quarter had a significant impact on LA’s receiving corps.
Right after the game, head coach Sean McVay said the chances are slim that the receiver would play in their Thursday Night Football game versus the Seattle Seahawks. However, he didn’t officially rule him out, as Adams himself showed optimism about the situation.
ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry reported on Tuesday that Adams “felt” his hamstring upon aggravating it against the Lions. However, it hasn’t been a decisive factor in his availability for Thursday night in the Emerald City.
“Sean McVay says that Davante Adams ‘felt it’ with his hamstring on Sunday but won’t rule him out for Thursday,” she posted on X.

The primary concern was that the former Green Bay Packers star would be hard-pressed to be ready for a short week in Seattle. The tilt will have significant effects on the NFC West title race, so McVay will have to balance roster health while maintaining high performance.
On Monday, Adams was considered week-to-week, and he subsequently missed Tuesday’s walk-through practice, with his availability for Thursday looking all the more like a game-time decision.
The 7th-year wide receiver has seen a career reboot since joining the Rams after declining years with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets. In 14 games this season, he has 60 receptions for 789 yards and a stunning 14 touchdowns. He’s averaging 13.1 yards per catch, with a longest gain of 44 yards.
He has put up impressive numbers despite playing second fiddle behind superstar Puka Nacua, who has asserted himself as one of the top receivers in pro football. Adams’s average yards per reception and touchdown total are among the best of his career since joining under offensive genius McVay in LA.
The Rams will hope that the former Jets’ injury setback is just a minor one. If he misses time, McVay and company will turn to names like wideout Tutu Atwell and tight ends Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen for support behind Nacua.
