Sunday’s NFC West showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks is simply one that Davante Adams won’t allow himself to miss.
The 32-year-old wide receiver is fully expecting to take the field and perform like his usual self for the Rams despite a nagging oblique injury that occurred in last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Davante Adams Injury Update Ahead of Week 11
Adams, who turns 33 on Christmas Eve, exited last week’s game with what the team initially described as a back injury. However, after further testing, Adams has an oblique issue that doesn’t appear to be severe enough to require shelving, despite being a three-time All-Pro.
In fact, Adams and the Rams’ medical staff have managed the ailment well enough that it shouldn’t even be a factor at all come Sunday.
“I’ll be the same old G out there,” Adams said when asked if he’ll be limited against the Seahawks, according to Adam Grosbard of the LA Daily News. “It shouldn’t really change anything. It’s just more of like what I can deal, the comfort. Before, it was kind of more debilitating. It’s come a long way.”

Head coach Sean McVay didn’t have to think twice about whether he’ll have Adams at his disposal this weekend. McVay has already stated that Adams informed him the expectation is that he’ll play, and that was on Wednesday, just before the Rams’ first practice of the week.
The concern level may be low, but the Rams will still be cautious with what they ask him to do; it won’t take much to aggravate an oblique injury. Adams had a team-high six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers before exiting the game.
Davante Adams’ First Year in LA Proving to be a Success
Adams enjoyed a remarkably productive eight-year career in Green Bay after being drafted by the Packers with a second-round selection. He had blossomed into Aaron Rodgers’ go-to target, and the pair combined for 69 regular-season touchdowns during their time together before Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022.
After playing 37 games for the Raiders, Adams was traded to the New York Jets mid-way through the 2024 campaign to reunite with Rodgers. They played the remaining 11 games together, connecting for 67 receptions, 854 yards, and seven touchdowns.
What had appeared to be a swan song for both players didn’t turn out to be the case; Rodgers ventured to Pittsburgh in the offseason to take the reins as the Steelers’ starting quarterback, and Adams signed with the Rams in free agency.

Through nine games, Adams has caught 42 passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford for 568 yards and a league-leading nine touchdowns.
After finding the end zone just three times in the Rams’ first six games, he’s scored six times in their last three, including pulling off a hat trick against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Oct. 19. Adams has a PFSN WR Impact score of 77.1.
