With only one loss on the season, the Philadelphia Eagles have a big matchup this week against the San Francisco 49ers. Will everyone be able to suit up? What are the fantasy injury updates on D’Andre Swift, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith heading into this important game, and can they be started in fantasy football?
Philadelphia Eagles Injury Updates
D’Andre Swift, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Editor’s note: Swift was a full participant in practice on Thursday for the Eagles.
An integral part of the Eagles’ success this season has been Swift and his fantastic production. Swift is the RB7 on the season and only has four weeks this year where he was RB25 or worse. He has rushed for 770 yards and four TDs, and the only thing not going his way is that, when Philly gets to the goal line, the classic Tush Push is always used to get QB Jalen Hurts into the endzone.
Lately, Swift has been dealing with an ankle injury. He was limited in some practices last week, leading up to Week 12, and the same seems to be happening this week. Swift was listed as limited on the Eagles’ Wednesday practice estimate.
Philadelphia will want him for Sunday’s game against the Niners, but it is not a good matchup. San Francisco gives up the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs. If Swift is limited, we might see more Kenneth Gainwell this week.
A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Editor’s note: Brown was a limited participant in practice on Thursday for the Eagles.
Outside of the last couple of games, Brown has been having a phenomenal season as part of the one-two WR punch on the Eagles. From Week 3 to Week 9, he never had a worse fantasy finish than WR13. He also had three top-three fantasy finishes during that span.
Philadelphia had an estimated injury report Wednesday, and Brown was listed as limited. It seems he is still dealing with the thigh issue that was bothering him during the ramp-up to Week 12, but he ended up playing against Buffalo and was on the field for 94% of the snaps. I doubt that Brown will miss this big game against an NFC rival.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Editor’s note: Smith was a full participant in practice on Thursday for the Eagles.
Another Philly WR dealing with a potential injury is Smith. Smith was also listed as limited on Wednesday’s estimated Eagles practice report, dealing with a knee issue.
It is uncertain the extent of Smith’s injury or if it will even impact his Week 13 status, but with TE Dallas Goedert still out, you know Philadelphia wants Smith on the field. If he has a setback and can not play, you are looking at Olamide Zaccheaus, Quez Watkins, and maybe even Julio Jones seeing more snaps.
