Former NFL running back Damien Harris believes that Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck‘s recent play may be improving his 2025 NFL Draft stock. Before the season, Beck was widely considered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft; however, he has seen his draft stock dip throughout the campaign.
On Nov. 29, 2024, Beck’s performance was critical in the Bulldogs’ comeback, 44-42 overtime win over the rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Week 14 of the college football season. During the game, Beck threw five passing touchdowns after his team was shut out in the entire first half of play. With the win, the Bulldogs improved their record to 10-2 and remain in second in the SEC.
What Did Damien Harris Say About Carson Beck?
While discussing Beck on the CBS Sports College Football pregame show on Nov. 30, Harris explained how Beck’s performances deserve to be praised and may result in a higher selection in the draft.
“Now we are starting to see what he capable of, what he did last year, and what teams think he can do in the future”, the former NFL star detailed.

The sentiment was further shared by another analyst who explained how Beck “is working his way up the draft boards” with his recent performances.
Where Does Beck Currently Rank in Next Year’s Draft?
Pro Football Network’s Dalton Miller currently projects the 6’4″, 218-pound quarterback as the 90th overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class in his recent Top 100 Big Board.
As Miller highlighted, “Beck fell into the Mac Jones trap. He heard the whispers that he needed to be more than an elevated bus driver, and so he tried. That trap ended with him writing checks that his arm and legs couldn’t cash, tanking his confidence and leading toward sloppy play that was never previously part of his game.
“The player that we thought could go in Round 1 still exists. However, his lackluster ceiling and overwhelming evidence that the floor is also low makes him a scary proposition for teams drafting on Day 1 and 2 in April.”

However, there is still a possibility that an NFL franchise may look at Beck’s recent play and believe the worst is behind the Bulldogs QB. Over the past three games, Beck has thrown for 941 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Not only has the former first-round-projected QB’s stats improved lately, but he has also looked much more confident, sharp, and capable of succeeding at the NFL level.
While it remains to be seen where Beck will be drafted next year, his recent play has done nothing to further the downward spiral it was taking earlier in the season and may have improved his draft stock in the process as well.
