The Buffalo Bills went down to Miami to take on the Miami Dolphins in NFL Week 10. The team was hoping to get another conference win, but not much went right for the Bills in Miami. The Dolphins were able to force three turnovers, and the team pulled off a massive 30-13 upset over their divisional rival.
It was bad enough for the Bills to lose a winnable game, but the hits kept coming. Star tight end Dalton Kincaid, who is among the team’s top options in the pass game, had to leave the game in the third quarter. Kincaid was clearly seen grabbing at his left hamstring, and the former first-round pick didn’t return to the game. Now that it’s been a day, we have some more info about the injury.
How serious is Dalton Kincaid’s injury?
It was reported that Kincaid is dealing with a hamstring injury. Hamstring and other soft-tissue injuries are scary because the risk of aggravation exists. Last season, Kincaid missed time with a knee injury.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Kincaid is considered “week-to-week” with the injury. This is probably the best-case scenario, considering the importance of Kincaid to the offense and the severity of the initial injury.
The Bills had their bye in Week 7, so the potential remains for Kincaid to miss multiple games. The team also has challenging games coming up, with matchups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kincaid is one of quarterback Josh Allen’s most reliable weapons. The tight end has 29 catches for 448 yards and a team-leading four touchdown catches this season. PFSN’s TE Impact gives Kincaid an elite 87.1 grade for his performance this season, which is the third-best grade among all qualified tight ends.
Kincaid already missed one game this season, back in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. The tight end was dealing with an oblique injury at the time, but returned to action after that contest.
If Kincaid can’t go, the team will likely rely on veteran Dawson Knox and rookie Jackson Hawes. Knox and Hawes have combined for 20 catches for 268 yards and three touchdowns so far in 2025. Knox has been reliable in the past, having recorded 24 touchdowns in his seven NFL seasons.
PFSN’s TE Impact ranking gives Hawes a 77.0 grade so far for this season, while Knox has a 72.7 mark. The two tight ends have combined for similar production to Kincaid, but Kincaid has been much better as an all-around weapon.
