Dallas Goedert Landing Spots: Top 4 Free Agent Destinations for the Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert has been an impact player for the Eagles, but is set to hit free agency. With them looking to retool, other teams who could be suitors.

Dallas Goedert was arguably the most consistent player for the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense in 2025. Now, he’s set to become a free agent, and the possibility of him leaving is real. The Eagles and Goedert both considered divorce last offseason before deciding to stay together.

Goedert rewarded them with a PFSN TE Impact Score of 78.5. Now, set to be a free agent, he could be sought after as a veteran option for Super Bowl contenders or a team trying to build its culture.

Philadelphia Eagles

Sometimes the answer is to stay here and have a happy marriage. The Eagles and Goedert have only ever known each other, and Goedert has been a great player for the Eagles during his career.

Goedert did not show signs of slowing down last season with a 78.5 PFSN Impact Score for a tight end and scoring 11 touchdowns. Even if he just ages into a red zone threat, there’s value in being a threat in that area of the field.

The Eagles could bring back Goedert while still seeking a younger tight end, but these two parties are better together than apart.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers are an interesting case because Goedert would not be a starter in Green Bay; that would be Tucker Kraft once he returns from his torn ACL. The tight ends behind Kraft, however, were a mess in Green Bay a season ago.

Luke Musgrave has not lived up to his billing as a second-round pick. Josh Whyle and John Fitzpatrick both battled injuries to finish the season. If the Packers want to find a veteran presence on offense to help them chase a championship, Goedert could be a steadying presence for a team that blew a 21-3 lead in their playoff loss to the Chicago Bears.

Perhaps the Packers could use someone on that side of the ball with some championship pedigree.

Denver Broncos

Speaking of teams that could use some championship pedigree, perhaps the Denver Broncos could apply here.

The Broncos could have been in the Super Bowl if not for the injury to Bo Nix. They fell short and are now looking for ways to get over the top and into the Super Bowl.

Sean Payton was a wizard at using tight ends when he was in New Orleans and could easily find a role for Goedert in Denver’s offense. Goedert is a good blocker, which could help Denver’s paltry run game, but still capable of making plays as a receiver as well.

The Broncos could make a play for Goedert to try and get them back into the Super Bowl for the first time since Peyton Manning was under center.

Cleveland Browns

While the first three teams mentioned are Super Bowl contenders, the Cleveland Browns are certainly not that. So why would they go after Goedert? Simple. Culture.

Goedert comes from an organization where winning is the expectation, and they have been successful during his time in Philadelphia.

The Browns have not been successful, but are trying to build a culture with Todd Monken taking over as the man in charge. Monken used plenty of multiple-tight-end sets in Baltimore with Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely. He could see a similar way of attacking defenses with Harold Fannin Jr. and the addition of Goedert.

Goedert would fit well in Cleveland’s offense if he’s willing to be a veteran on a team likely to lean toward youth.

Important Dates in 2026 NFL Free Agency

The legal tampering period runs for 52 hours, opening Monday, March 9, at noon ET and closing at 3:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 11, just minutes before free agency officially begins.

During that window, teams can negotiate with the certified agents of players set to become unrestricted free agents. Verbal agreements can be reached and reported, but nothing is official yet.

For the first time, teams can recruit up to five players and speak with each for up to 1 hour via video or phone, rather than routing all contact through agents. The player’s agent must be present on every call. If a team wants to meet a player in person or have him visit a facility, that still must wait until free agency is officially underway.

Free agency officially opens at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 11, when the NFL’s new league year begins. That’s when contracts become official, not when they’re reported. The trading period also opens at that moment, allowing previously agreed-upon deals to be completed.

All teams must be cap-compliant by the 4 p.m. Wednesday deadline. The 2026 salary cap is set at $301.2 million, a $22 million increase from 2025.

Most of the market’s top players will have agreed to terms well before Wednesday afternoon. The tampering window exists to give that process structure. What’s new this year is that players themselves, not just their agents, can now hear directly from the teams pursuing them.
