The Philadelphia Eagles are ready to defend their Super Bowl victory and are making moves to free up some additional money. Tight end Dallas Goedert was ready to play the final season of his four-year, $57 million contract, but his deal has now been restructured.
Goedert played in 10 games and finished the 2024 season with 42 receptions on 52 targets for 496 yards (11.8 yards per catch) and a pair of touchdown receptions. In the four playoff games, he played a bigger role, recording 17 catches on 20 targets for 215 yards (12.6 yards per reception) with an additional touchdown grab.
With Goedert’s contract being officially restructured, what does it look like, and what does this mean for him? Let’s take a closer look at what we know regarding his contract and his future in Philadelphia.
What Does Dallas Goedert’s Contract Restructure Look Like?
Goedert has been an integral piece for the Eagles throughout his contract, as the second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has become a key player in Philadelphia’s offense. He was scheduled to make $14 million this season, but the tight end’s new deal has him earning $10 million, with the chance to make an extra $1 million through incentives.
The $4 million pay cut, in the end, helped keep him with the Eagles. Philadelphia had received trade offers during the draft, but ultimately decided to hold onto him. Likewise, Goedert chose to take the cut in pay to remain in Philadelphia. He’s still scheduled to become a free agent following the 2025 season, so it’ll be interesting to see how that situation plays out.
Teams appear willing to pay Goedert, and the Eagles had slightly more than $24.8 million on the 2025 salary cap. Now that the team is keeping the tight end in Philly for another year, Philadelphia can continue focusing on improving offensively. They finished 13th last year in PFSN’s Offensive+ metric, with a grade of 78.1.
With another piece of the core staying in the City of Brotherly Love — and doing so on a reduced salary — this move could open the door for potential extensions this offseason or help the Eagles sign their rookies and remain cap-friendly.
What Does Goedert’s Net Worth Look Like?
Goedert has played in the NFL for seven seasons now and saw a big contract following his rookie contract. Per Sportskeeda, Goedert had an estimated net worth of $10 million in January 2024. For his career up to this point, he’s made more than $47.3 million in earnings when counting this upcoming season.
