Get to Know Cris Collinsworth’s Wife, Holly

Collinsworth has been married to his wife, Holly, since 1989. The two met for the first time in the 1980s when Collinsworth was playing for the Cincinnati Bengals.

The former three-time Pro Bowl receiver played his entire eight-year NFL career with the Bengals.

Holly went to dinner one night at a restaurant called The Precinct, which Cris happened to co-own, and mutual friends set them up on a date, Cris told Cincinnati Magazine in 2001 (people.com).

During Collinsworth’s NFL career, Holly was getting her law degree. She graduated in 1988, the same year Cris proposed, and the two married the next year.

Holly was born and raised in Kentucky and attended Highlands High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky, and both she and Cris attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Holly got her J.D. in 1988, and Cris got his three years later – after his NFL career. Holly became a practicing attorney and a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association.

“She’s great. I have a really strong wife,” Cris told Cincinnati Magazine in 2001 (people.com). “It’s amazing all that she can handle, particularly with as much as I’m away from home.”

Cris and Holly have two sons and two daughters together, and sports run deep in the family.

Their oldest, Katie, graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in public relations. She worked for CBS as a runner, NBC for a short time, and now works for GolfNow. Katie has five kids with her husband.

Their second child, Austin, played safety at Notre Dame and served as his team’s captain in the 2010s. Austin is the chief operating officer at Pro Football Focus, of which Cris is a majority owner.

Their youngest daughter, Ashley, ran track at Harvard and graduated with a degree in psychology. She now works as a producer at MRI, and she and her husband had a daughter in 2024.

Their youngest kid, Jac, works for NBC Sports and is likely the most recognizable to those who watch Cris on Sunday nights. Jac used to contribute to ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, and he’s followed in his father’s footsteps in football broadcasting.
