Cowboys Legend Rips Santa Clara for ‘Worst’ Super Bowl, Explains Why NFL Should ‘Never Ever’ Return

Super Bowl 60 was a success in many ways, but one NFL legend was not a fan of the host city and is begging the NFL not to return.

Another NFL season wrapped up last weekend as the Seattle Seahawks took down the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.

The game drew huge viewership and brought out all the celebrities, as it usually does. However, one former NFL great was not impressed with the Bay Area and recently explained why he never wants the game to be held there again.

Michael Irvin Bashes Santa Clara for ‘Horrible’ Super Bowl Ever

Michael Irvin is often seen on the sidelines at football games, whether it be for his beloved Miami Hurricanes or the Super Bowl. Irvin was in attendance at Levi’s Stadium for the big game, and it’s safe to say he wasn’t impressed by the host city.

“This was a horrible Super Bowl. They should never, ever, ever, ever, bring the Super Bowl back to San Francisco,” Irvin declared. “In all the years of going to a Super Bowl, this was the worst.”

Irvin has plenty of Super Bowl experience, to be fair. The Hall of Fame receiver played in and won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys and has regularly attended the games in his post-playing career.

As a Cowboy, it’s not surprising that Irvin isn’t a fan of San Francisco, considering the rivalry between the 49ers and Cowboys. However, the receiver really isn’t a fan of anything about the Bay Area.

Irvin said the people, buildings, and events were all “blah,” and begged the NFL never to go back. “I couldn’t wait until this moment came to tell you DAMN, I believe this is the worst Super Bowl I have ever gone to,” Irvin continued. “NFL, you cannot come back here again. You cannot have a Super Bowl back here again.”

Next year’s Super Bowl will also be in California and is set to be at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Irvin, a Florida native, may enjoy Super Bowl 62 more, as it’s slated to be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Seahawks dominated much of Super Bowl 60 against the Patriots. Ultimately, the team walked away with a 29-13 victory, securing their second Super Bowl win in franchise history. The team’s first Super Bowl win came in Super Bowl 48 against the Denver Broncos.

It had to feel even sweeter for the Seahawks to win it in Santa Clara, the home of one of their biggest rivals. Now, the Seahawks begin the tough task of reloading and trying to repeat in the upcoming season.
