‘Generationally A**’ — NFL Analyst Rips Cowboys’ Lackluster Defense After Micah Parsons Trade

In no world did anyone expect Sunday Night Football to end in a 40-40 tie. There’s no worse ending than a tie, as both teams went out there and fought for 70 minutes, only for no one to come out a winner.

Not even the new overtime rules changed the fact that ties can still happen in the NFL regular season. That said, this analyst had no issue tearing apart the Dallas Cowboys’ defense that allowed 40 points.

NFL Analyst Puts the Cowboys Defense on Blast

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott put up insane numbers against what was known to be a stellar Green Bay Packers defense. The Packers, who dropped their first game of the season to the Cleveland Browns last week, left AT&T Stadium 2-1-1 after allowing 40 points to Prescott and company. In the end, the Cowboys’ 10th-year QB was 31/40 for 319 yards and three touchdowns.

“Dak Prescott has to be Superman this year. He has to have Superman numbers,” Kieran Hickey-Semple said. “I said it before, they were going to have the best offensive performance that any team has had against the Packers because the Cowboys have a good offense this year.”

WR George Pickens put on a show with WR CeeDee Lamb out due to injury. Pickens exposed the Packers’ secondary as he finished with a pair of touchdowns on eight receptions for 134 yards. By the end of the 70 minutes, Prescott had targeted Pickens 11 times. Coming into this game, Prescott had received a C grade from PFSN’s QB Impact.

He continued, “That defense though? Generationally ass. Generationally butt. That defense is embarrassing. They can’t tackle, they’re not physical, they’ve busted coverage, they stink. I’ve never seen one worse.”

On the other side, QB Jordan Love put up points time and time again. Whenever the Packers needed to answer, Love was up for the challenge. His first, and only playoff win, came against the Cowboys on the road two seasons ago. It’s a loss the Cowboys haven’t forgotten about, but Love picked up where he left off. In the end, he was 31/43 for 337 yards and had three touchdowns.

One of the things HC Matt LaFleur was trying to get going was the Packers’ run game. RB Josh Jacobs, who averaged less than two yards per attempt against the Browns, doubled that total in Dallas. He had a pair of rushing touchdowns as he finished with 22 carries for 86 yards. RB Emanuel Wilson impressed as well with eight carries for 44 yards.

Green Bay finished the game 10-14 on third down. They converted on their lone fourth down conversion, one that happened to be in overtime with the game on the line. The Cowboys allowed just 11 yards shy of 500 as Green Bay’s offense averaged 6.2 yards per play.
