‘Refs Are Flat Out Cheating’ — NFL Fans, Analysts Rip Controversial Officiating in Cowboys-Chiefs Thanksgiving Game

Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving win over the Kansas City Chiefs ignites NFL fan outrage over controversial officiating and key pass interference calls.

The Dallas Cowboys just notched their biggest win of the season on Thanksgiving against the Kansas City Chiefs.

With their backs against the wall, the Cowboys have delivered for their fans with wins over the Chiefs and Eagles. The Chiefs’ reign at the top of the AFC looks to be coming to an end, but the talk of the day is the officiating. NFL fans and analysts ripped into the officials on social media over some controversial calls.

NFL World Slams Officiating in Dallas

The Cowboys and Chiefs game was marked by numerous penalties and calls that drew criticism from the NFL world. Whenever the Chiefs are playing, expect the referees to be under scrutiny. That is precisely what happened, but this time, fans called out the refs for consistently making calls in favor of the Cowboys.

Former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky chimed in on the subject, calling out the refs for being one-sided.

“The officiating has been very very one sided for Dallas so far,” said Orlovsky.

With questionable pass interference calls being called all game long, including a controversial one between Trent McDuffie and CeeDee Lamb, NFL analyst Albert Breer simply wanted the refs to let the guys play. It’s a primetime game, and the refs are trying to make all the right calls; sometimes, it gets to be too much. Breer even called for the ref crew to be fired for the numerous calls.

“Fire Marshal Bill’s crew with these ticky-tack PI calls …,” said Breer.

Chase Daniel played backup QB in the NFL for years. He couldn’t stay silent either.

“It’s almost like the officiating is trying to prove the national narrative wrong that the Chiefs get all the calls….in front of probably 50 million people,” said Daniel.

The narrative has long been that the referees consistently favor the Chiefs. Today, it was not the case. The refs made big calls against the Chiefs all afternoon, and all of the penalties added up to cost them. Fans were shocked that it turned out this way, especially with the Chiefs’ season on the line.

“Refs are for the Cowboys, no way,” said one fan.

Other fans were just disappointed in the product from the refs for such an important game. Both teams were playing to keep their playoff chances alive, and it was the day of Thanksgiving. Everyone was watching, but the refs still stole the show.

“This is THE most watched game ever(regular season) and the refs are flat out cheating. Idk how to even put it. Like I’ve never seen THIS,” said one fan.

The Chiefs will have to run the table and win out to have a chance at making the playoffs. Not many people would have expected Kansas City to be in this situation, but here they are. They’ll need some Mahomes magic in their last five games to get them into the postseason.

The Cowboys don’t have much more wiggle room, either, despite getting the big win. At 6-5-1, they are still 1.5 games behind the 49ers, and the Lions still sit above them on the outside looking in. Luckily for the Cowboys, they play Detroit next week and will have the chance to hop them with a win.

    They were got at!
Too much bad publicity over the last couple of years, suggesting that refs favoured the chiefs.
They haven’t had a break since the cowboys game.
All those games were not worth playing.
    Professional sport!
