There are times when people misidentify celebrities and sports stars, especially when they have never seen them before. If you think it is any different for superstars recognizing others, it is not. At least that’s what Cleveland Browns’ DE Myles Garrett’s girlfriend, Olympian Chloe Kim, confirmed.
The three-time Winter Olympic medalist shared an interesting tale about misidentifying her boyfriend at an NFL game. It was hilarious, and she could hardly hold back the smirks herself.
Chloe Kim Thought Myles Garrett Was DJ Martin Garrix at the Browns vs. Rams
Kim recently appeared as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where she explained that she went to an NFL game to see Garrett, but ended up expecting someone else. The host of the show, Jimmy Kimmel, asked Kim, “Had you seen Myles play before you started dating?”
Kim started to detail the incident. She said, “Unintentionally, yes, because the same friend that introduced us, he was like, ‘Oh yeah, come to a football game. They are playing the Rams.’ I was like, ‘Cool.’ He said, ‘Our client is playing.’ I was like, ‘Cool.'”
And then the funny part happened. Kim misheard her friend when he named Garrett as the ‘client.’ But now, she knows what might have happened.
Addressing it, Kim said, “I don’t know. I think he said his name, but I thought he said Martin Garrix. So, the whole time I was at the game, I was waiting for him to perform,” the Olympian said.
The video went viral. NFL reporter Dov Kleiman posted the video with the caption:
“No Way: Myles Garrett’s girlfriend, Chloe Kim, thought that he was the famous DJ Martin Garrix before they met. “I think he said Garrett’s name, but I thought he said ‘Martin Garrix.’ So the whole time I was at the game, I was waiting for Martin to perform: Halftime comes around & I’m like, ‘Where’s Garrix?’”

The waiting game started. Kim was waiting for DJ Martin Garrix to show up during halftime and perform. But he did not, leaving Kim confused.
She added, “So I was like ‘Okay, someone is singing the national anthem in the beginning, and that makes sense.’ And then halftime comes around, and I’m like, ‘Where is Martin Garrix?'”
The worst part is yet to come. Imagine going to support your friend’s team at a game and accidentally supporting the opponents instead.
Admitting to it, Kim said, “I was cheering for the Rams the whole time too, cause I again think we’re there for Martin Garrix, not for somebody who plays for the Browns. Martin Garrix never showed up and I was like, ‘This guy is locked, why is he not showing up to do his performance?'”
The Olympian later found out the truth. “I later found out that we were there to see Myles and not Martin,” she said.
Garrett was at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics 2026, supporting his partner. When Kim was asked whether he snowboarded too, the answer was a straight ‘no’. “No. He is not allowed to,” she said.
