Super Bowl Champion Boldly Claims NFL Has ‘Figured Out’ Lamar Jackson

Super Bowl champion Charles Omenihu recently claimed that the league has figured out Lamar Jackson while comparing Ravens QB to Josh Allen.

The Baltimore Ravens missed the playoffs for just the second time in the last eight years last season, and with that came a coaching change. New head coach Jesse Minter has taken over for John Harbaugh in Baltimore, and there’s instant expectation for the Ravens.

2025 was also the Ravens’ second losing season in the last 10 years. Since Baltimore drafted quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team has made the playoffs six of his eight years. However, has the NFL figured the two-time MVP out?

Charles Omenihu Claims Lamar Jackson Has Been Figured Out

Jackson is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He’ll be entering his ninth season in the league in 2026, is a three-time All-Pro, two-time MVP, and has made four Pro Bowls.

However, former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu joined the “Speakeasy” Show recently and boldly claimed the NFL has “figured out” Jackson.

“With Lamar (Jackson), honestly, if you bring a five-man rush on him and collapse that pocket, he’s drifting backwards and, unfortunately, he might make a play that isn’t going to be the best play for the Ravens,” Omenihu said.

He continued by comparing the Ravens’ star to Buffalo Bills’ star quarterback Josh Allen.

“I don’t think the league has truly figured (Josh Allen) out,” Omenihu added. “With Josh, he’s going to drift backwards, run around. He’s so hard to tackle and he’s a large human being. Hard to get down (and) he can make every throw, bro. Every throw from no matter where he’s at. His arm strength is unbelievable. I don’t think Lamar has that big amount of arm strength, like how Josh does.”

Allen, Jackson, and Mahomes have been widely regarded as the best quarterbacks in the AFC, with everyone else trailing them since they rose to stardom in the NFL.

While Jackson has more first-team All-Pros (3 to 0) and MVPs (2 to 1) than Allen, the Bills quarterback has the upper hand in playoff wins (8 to 3).

Then there’s Mahomes, who has similar accolades to Jackson and Allen, except the Chiefs quarterback has 17 playoff wins, three Super Bowl rings, and three Super Bowl MVPs. Mahomes always finds a way to make something happen, and in recent years has had a defense that has helped the team go all the way.

Allen is considered by many as the best athlete-quarterback in the NFL, and his decision-making at times is the only thing holding him back.

Jackson, however, is coming off a tough season where the Ravens missed the playoffs, and he did not play his best. And Omenihu thinks the league has figured the Louisville product out.

“Like I said, I think (the league) figured out Lamar. You come after him, you close all the lanes, you five-man rush him, and you cover his guys,” Omenihu said. “And I think you get it done. It’s been shown.”

According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, Jackson finished last season as the 12th-highest ranked quarterback in the league with an impact score of 79.4.

The 2026 season, under a new regime, will have a lot of eyes on it for Jackson and the Ravens.
