Chargers WR Depth Chart: Who’s in Los Angeles’ Wide Receiver Room After Drafting Tre Harris in Second Round?

The 2025 NFL Draft marches on, and the Los Angeles Chargers added another offensive weapon by drafting Ole Miss receiver Tre Harris with the 55th overall pick.

The Chargers have focused on offense through their first two picks, taking running back Omarion Hampton in the first round. How will Harris fit into Los Angeles’ receiver room?

How Will Tre Harris Fit in the Chargers’ Depth Chart?

Harris played three years at Louisiana Tech before transferring to Ole Miss in 2023. PFSN’s Ian Cummings broke down Harris, writing, “He proved he belonged alongside top SEC competitors with an incredibly productive two-year stretch. Harris neared 1,000 yards in 2023, and in 2024, he eclipsed that mark in just eight games, scoring a TD on over 10% of his catches.

“At 6’2″, 205 pounds, with 32″ arms, Harris has the build of a potential X-receiver, and he also has the catch-point authority to hound defensive backs. With his body control, hand strength, and attacking IQ, he controls conversion situations, but his game is also quietly complete beyond his catching ability.

“While he’s not an elite vertical threat, he’s an explosive stem artist with great size-adjusted fluidity and angle freedom on in-breakers, and he can use his bend and play strength as a RAC threat, too.”

Harris posted 60 receptions, 1,030 yards, and seven touchdowns in his final college season. He totaled 29 scores in college, with 25 of them coming in his last three years.

So, how will Harris fit into the Chargers’ offense? Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston lead LA’s receiver room, and the team has brought Mike Williams back into the fold to replace Joshua Palmer. Jalen Reagor and Derius Davis round out the group.

As a rookie, McConkey led the team in receptions (82) and yards (1,149) while adding seven touchdowns. He quickly became Justin Herbert’s go-to option and became an effective option in the slot.

Johnston was the team’s second-leading receiver in 2024, totaling 55 catches and 711 yards. He led the Chargers with eight touchdowns and revived his career after a rough rookie campaign. Harris, Johnston, and Williams will compete for snaps, with all three being outside options.

Williams returns after a year away from Los Angeles. The seven-year vet had a rough 2024 with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers, totaling just 21 receptions, 298 yards, and one score. He’s an outside-only, back-shoulder, jump-ball option at this point in his career and should supplement Los Angeles’ offense.

Davis and Reagor contributed 20 catches, 212 yards, and two touchdowns between them in 2024 and will round out the depth chart.

Harris has a legit chance to start as a rookie and could be a long-term running mate for McConkey.
