Latest Injury Update on Georgia LB CJ Allen
On Georgia’s third defensive drive of the game, Allen came on a blitz, but ran into the back of fellow LB Chris Cole, who was chipped by Texas’ tight end. Allen saw the move late and attempted to bounce out of the way, seemingly tweaking his left leg on the play.

The Bulldogs’ leading tackler was in obvious pain and immediately grabbed the back of his left leg. Trainers attended to him, and the sideline reporter stated he was barely able to put pressure on the leg.
However, he was able to walk into the locker on his own power, albeit with a noticeable limp, with 8:08 remaining in the second quarter.
Allen entered the contest with 75 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery to his name. Prior to exiting the contest, he contributed three tackles, including one for loss.
The undisputed leader of the defense has been on a tear all year long, resulting in many predicting him as a top-100 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

While his movement skills don’t translate as well in coverage, especially compared to other, more fluid athletes at the position, he’s proven to be a throwback thumper against the run and as a tackler.
With Allen out, the Bulldogs will look to Cole and 6’2″, 225-pound sophomore Justin Williams to fill in opposite starter Raylen Wilson at the second level.
