Colorado Commit Julian Lewis Flaunts Grills, Lights Up Social Media

Lewis is once again the talk of social media, this time for a custom set of diamond grills that went viral. In a six-second clip posted by jeweler @saintthejeweler, the icy dental piece is showcased with the caption, “@julianlewis10 6 days later #nocap 🧊💎,” highlighting how quickly the flashy piece was completed.

The clip, which features Lewis showing off his new look, has racked up tens of thousands of views and sparked conversations across platforms.

Lewis, a five-star recruit in the 2025 class who committed to the Buffaloes in 2024, has captivated fans with both his high-level play and his signature flair. Known for his charisma and confidence, Lewis has become a fan favorite before even stepping onto the field in Boulder.

His arrival is seen as a recruiting coup for Sanders, whose efforts to rebuild Colorado’s football program are now bolstered by one of the nation’s top young quarterbacks.

With Lewis stepping into the spotlight ahead of the 2025 season, questions remain about his exact role under Sanders’ leadership. The coaching staff has not yet named a starter, and while Lewis brings star power and potential, he will need to prove himself in a competitive environment.

Kaidon Salter vs. Julian Lewis: Colorado’s Quarterback Clash Headlines Preseason

The top storyline heading into Colorado’s preseason is the quarterback duel between freshman Julian Lewis and Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter. After a tightly contested spring game, no clear favorite emerged, and Sanders has yet to name a starter. This competition is expected to shape the Buffaloes’ offense and could have lasting implications for the program’s direction.

Salter brings experience, having appeared in 35 games over four seasons at Liberty. In 2023, he led the Flames to a 13-1 record, a Conference USA title, and produced 52 total touchdowns while throwing for nearly 3,000 yards and rushing for more than 1,000. However, his struggles against top-tier competition were evident in the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon, where his play dipped under pressure.

In 2024, Salter’s production declined, as he totaled 1,886 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 587 rushing yards with seven scores. He closed the season with a difficult performance against Jacksonville State, finishing 12-for-35 with just 85 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions.

This regression has raised questions about his ability to lead Colorado against tougher opponents, but his experience and dual-threat ability remain valuable assets for the Buffaloes.

Lewis, who reclassified from 2026 to 2025, enters college at just 17 years old. A standout at Carrollton High School in Georgia, he threw for 11,010 yards and compiled a 39-4 record across three seasons.

Lewis’s reputation as a top-tier recruit is undisputed. He led his team to two state championship appearances and was a two-time finalist for the Gatorade National Player of the Year, a testament to his consistent excellence at the prep level.

“I’ve been competing for QB jobs since I was 7,” Lewis said. “My dad took me to the hardest coaches and toughest programs, and I always had to earn it.”

Whether Lewis is ready to start immediately remains to be seen. Known for his sharp pocket passing and ability to extend plays, he brings a skill set that could thrive in Sanders’ system. As the preseason unfolds, all eyes will be on this quarterback battle, which could determine the trajectory of Colorado’s season and the future of the program.
