When two middle-of-the-pack college football teams take the field today in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, it might not look like a real hot game to tune into at all.
But the Florida International Panthers and UTSA Roadrunners have a couple of quarterbacks who can throw the ball around pretty well. Package that with two 1,000-yard running backs hitting Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, and this bowl game just might be sneaky good.
Florida International Panthers Opt-Outs and Injury Report
While Florida International would have loved to have everyone take part in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, that’s not going to happen. Cornerback Mister Clark has decided to enter the transfer portal, a move that is not uncommon in today’s college football landscape.
Also, cornerback Victor Evans III will not play for Florida International, either. There’s an indication that Evans is not playing due to injury. Evans may also officially enter the transfer portal at some point.
Outside of those two players, though, Florida International appears to be full speed ahead entering the clash with UTSA.

Quarterback Keyone Jenkins will look to add to his statistics against the Roadrunners. So far, Jenkins has 1,693 yards passing this season with nine touchdown passes and five interceptions. Running back Kejon Owens has 1,298 yards rushing and 11 rushing touchdowns this season. He’s going to see if he can add more yards to that total against the UTSA defense.
UTSA Roadrunners Opt-Outs and Injury Report
As for the Roadrunners, they have lost three players to the transfer portal heading into the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. Defensive lineman Chidera Otutu, EDGE Daemian Wimberly (EDGE), and defensive back KK Meier are going into the transfer portal.
They will be looking to continue their collegiate playing days with another school. Additionally, entering today’s bowl game, there have been no reports of injuries that would keep players out of the game.

But the Roadrunners come into this game with quarterback Owen McCown running the UTSA offense. McCown has put up some gaudy numbers this season. He enters the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl with 2,700 passing yards, 27 touchdown passes, and seven interceptions on the season.
Roadrunners running back Robert Henry Jr. already has 1,000 yards rushing this season (1,045 yards to be exact). Wide receiver Devin McCuin will be a target for McCown against Florida International.
