Paul Finebaum hyped Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns extensively in the lead-up to their season-opening matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He went so far as to say that Manning is the best and biggest quarterback to enter the collegiate scene since Tim Tebow. Well, we all know how things turned out for Manning and Texas against Ohio State in a 14-7 loss.
What wasn’t expected was Ric Flair’s coming to perform a one-man pig pile on Finebaum.
Ric Flair Has Entered the Chat
After Texas washed out, Finebaum sounded off, posting, “855-242-7285… just in case you need the number for Monday.”

For context, prior to the game, Finebaum would tell anyone who would listen that he was certain that Arch Manning would be the best college quarterback in last two decades.
“[Arch Manning] is the best player we have seen from every aspect since Tim Tebow.” – Paul Finebaum, this morning on ‘SEC Nation’. 🏈🎙️ #CFB pic.twitter.com/UrNuXdp2BG

Then the hits from Flair came fast and furious, with the first one calling Finebaum absurd and incompetent.
Dear Mr. @finebaum, As Usual, You Are The Most Absurd & Incompetent Analyst In All Of College Football. I’ll Take Heather Dinich @CFBHeather Any Day Over You. You Should Be Expelled From @ESPN. Every Time I See You On The TV, I Turn It Off. You Have 22,000 Followers. I Have 9.3… pic.twitter.com/ggUWEVpjJr

Flair wasn’t done. He kept coming for Finebaum by rubbing in Florida State’s win over Alabama because of Finebaum’s penchant for touting the SEC’s relative dominance in college football:
“Well, Mr. @finebaum, I Guess You Lose Again. Florida State Beat Alabama. Another Bad Prediction On Your Part. Do You Know How Hurtful It Is To Call People Like @LincolnRiley, @CoachJim4UM, And @ryandaytime Out By Name When You Are So Far Off The Mark. Smarten Up! You’re 0-2 So Far! I Am Actually Embarrassed For You & The Comments You Make About People’s Personal Lives. So Sad!”

Before the game, Finebaum was outspoken about Texas’ roster’s superiority to that of Ohio State’s, while also claiming that current Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh’s national title at Michigan is illegitimate.
In the aftermath of Manning’s poor performance, Finebaum has been quiet since posting his phone number, though he’ll be sure to be back on the scene on Monday.
