The transfer portal is full of temptation, especially with strong NIL deals waiting on the other side, but it’s never a sure thing.
For every player who cashes in on a fresh start, there’s another left stuck in limbo. Beau Pribula may be next to roll those dice: a former 3-star recruit from York, Pa., he picked Penn State over Nebraska and Virginia Tech out of high school, then emerged as a 4-star portal prospect before ultimately choosing Missouri over Iowa, Ole Miss, and UCF.
Missouri QB Beau Pribula Set To Enter Transfer Portal
After spending one year in Columbia, Pribula decided to enter the transfer portal. This move raises questions about his motivation and the potential impact on head coach Eli Drinkwitz’s offense. With Pribula at quarterback, Missouri’s offense ranked 33rd nationally, according to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, which assesses production and efficiency.
Considering how Pribula occasionally struggled with throws, being in the top third of the entire subdivision. Matt Zenitz originally broke the story.

“Missouri starting quarterback Beau Pribula has informed Mizzou of his intention to enter the transfer portal, according to sources from @PowerMizzoucom and @CBSSports.”
Pribula joined Missouri after two seasons as Drew Allar’s backup at Penn State. In ten games, he recorded 1,941 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, and ran for 297 yards with six rushing touchdowns. His dual-threat capability is likely to make him a valued prospect for his redshirt senior season. As a starting quarterback, Pribula had a 7-3 record during his one-year tenure at Missouri.
Pribula’s departure creates uncertainty in the quarterback lineup. Currently, true freshman Matt Zollers and graduate transfer Matt Lock are the only healthy quarterbacks on the depth chart. Zollers, a highly regarded freshman, was called into action after Pribula’s injury against Vanderbilt.

If Coach Drinkwitz believes Zollers is the long-term option, Pribula’s departure may have a limited effect. Zollers completed 50% of his passes for 470 yards, recording a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 4:1.
Pribula is not the only player transferring from the University of Missouri. According to CFB Depth, the Tigers have lost eight players to the portal. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz has demonstrated the ability to restock the roster, signing running back Ahmad Hardy from the portal last year.
Hardy, previously the Sun Belt Conference’s leading rusher at Louisiana-Monroe, replicated his success in the SEC. With 1,560 yards, he led the conference in rushing yards.
The effect of Pribula’s departure on the team will be quickly assessed as the Tigers prepare to face the University of Virginia in the Gator Bowl on December 27.
