As Micah Parsons Departs, Dez Bryant’s Hype for Arch Manning at Cowboys Meets Skepticism From Fans

While Dez Bryant is ready for the Dallas Cowboys to begin the Arch Manning Era with the Longhorns QB, fans seem unsure about what will unfold.

On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys made a shocking move by trading star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in a mega-deal that netted the Cowboys some much-needed draft picks but has created controversy and earned owner Jerry Jones and his squad a lot of criticism.

Although Parsons himself seems happy (as does his new quarterback), others believe the Cowboys made a huge mistake with one executive calling the move “beyond idiotic” and “Organizational Malpractice.”

However, others are trying to see the good in the move.

Arch Manning As a Cowboy? Fans Split

Former star wide receiver Dez Bryant is taking positives from the trade, arguing that this sets up the Cowboys to draft Texas Quarterback Arch Manning.

“Arch Manning will have a star on his helmet,” Bryant said. “Nobody can tell me different.”

Fans, however, don’t see things the same way as Bryant. “They can’t move Dak with that contract lol,” one fan responded.

Several fans have mentioned Prescott’s deal, which is worth $240 million over four years. It includes an $80 million signing bonus, $231 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $60 million. The deal runs through the 2028 season.

Others agreed, saying, “Dak’s contract will tell you different tho.”

“Not with two late round picks in the 1st round,” another argued, pointing out that the Cowboys’ picks, including what they acquired from the Packers, will likely come at the end of the first round and have them in no position to draft Manning, who some consider one of, if not the, top player in the 2026 draft.

“He going to Indianapolis 🤣🤣,” another told Bryant. Others are simply hoping Manning doesn’t have to deal with the circus the Cowboys can be, with one tweeting, “he deserves better than that current dumpster fire…”

“I’ll bet you money Dallas will not finish bad enough to draft him. If they use the collateral they have, different story. 2025 Cowboys = 2024 Bengals as of right now,” another fan responded to Bryant.

Bryant defended his stance. “Dallas will have 3 first round picks they wouldn’t mind giving away.” As difficult and unlikely as it may be, pulling off a move to see Manning with a star on his helmet, as Bryant predicted, may be the only way to quiet the Cowboys’ critics and please a fan base begging for success.

Manning and the top-ranked Longhorns will head to Columbus to take on the third-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in one of the season’s premier matchups on Saturday.
