‘His Girlfriend Is Like 12’ — David Pollack Mocks Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Relationship Amid UNC Struggles

Bill Belichick’s first year in Chapel Hill turned out to be a disaster, with the Tar Heels limping to a 4-8 overall record and a dismal 2-6 finish in the ACC. As critics circle his ability to connect with college athletes in this modern era, college football analyst David Pollack has decided to weigh in.

David Pollack Gets Blunt About Bill Belichick’s Struggles at UNC

Pollack appeared on the latest episode of the “See Ball, Get Ball” podcast and dissected Belichick’s recent comments about UNC. Producer/host Wes Blankenship pointed out how Belichick admitted not having a good relationship with his team last year. Amid the discussion, Pollack started laughing.

He explained, “You know what I’m laughing about by the way? ‘Cause when you say that and I hear it loud and I go like, ‘Bill Belichick struggling at an older age to handle younger people and to understand them and how they work.’”

“But his girlfriend is like 12. I mean, he is used to handling, like, she is the kid’s age in college. So, relating, I feel like they shouldn’t have an issue,” Pollack added.

While Hudson is a college graduate and former cheerleader, Pollack’s exaggeration strikes at a comical truth. Hudson was born in 2001, making her exactly the same age as many fifth-year seniors and older transfer portal players navigating college football today. If Belichick can bridge a nearly half-century age gap at home, Pollack argued, understanding a locker room of 19-to-23-year-olds shouldn’t be his primary hurdle.

Following the catastrophic four-win campaign, the UNC program underwent a massive winter overhaul. UNC lost its leading tackler from last season, linebacker Khmori House.

Adding to the defensive bleed, star edge rusher Tyler Thompson, who finished an impressive fourth in the ACC in sacks, also packed his bags. On the offensive side, the quarterback room was wiped out.

However, Pollack saw a positive spin for the coming season.

He declared, “First, he immediately gets better. Yes, because he knows what’s going on, what the system is. They didn’t do a good job with evaluating the roster last year. That’s the fact.”

But he pulled the rug quickly as he issued a long-term warning.

He concluded, “I don’t see it getting much better. Offensively, they will be at least more exciting. After next year, then it’s a serious discussion… He’s never going into college football hall of fame for damn sure. And there is a lot of work to be done obviously.”

The 2026 schedule offers zero favors to a reloading roster. The Tar Heels face a daunting gauntlet that features six games against projected top-half ACC teams, alongside a brutal non-conference slate.

Entering Year 2 of the Belichick experiment, expectations in Chapel Hill have plummeted to historic lows. Sportsbooks are offering little respect to the gridiron icon, with FanDuel setting North Carolina’s over/under win total at a meager 4.5 wins. Similarly, PFSN’s CFB Playoff Meter projected a win total of 7.6.
