PFN’s Matt Cannata voiced his thoughts on what the punishment should be for Kiffin: “Sanction Lane.”

“This season was always going to be a unique circumstance w/ the 5th-year eligibility rule only leaving this year’s outgoing class outside the qualifying group,” PFN analyst Ian Cummings noted on X. “It’s led to a rock-and-a-hard-place situation w/ Lane Kiffin & the SEC. If he doesn’t back down, imo sanctions follow.”

“If Lane Kiffin gets sanctioned, then you better believe the victim card will be played. Yet Lane will never really take a look in the mirror,” PFN’s Joe Rutland stated.
“Lane is gonna be the first coach in SEC history to get a conference lawsuit before a conference win,” joked PFN’s Cam Mellor.
While surely celebrating somewhere in Louisiana following this court ruling, Kiffin will still need to be on his toes, as it’s been reported that the SEC still may look to come after LSU in a full legal matter.
Still, LSU’s main focus now is its matchup on Saturday against Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers, but this drama with the SEC is very far from over.
