The 2025 college football season has recently made headlines more for off-field drama than on-field performances. The last few weeks have been largely dominated by head coaches’ firings, as big programs like Florida and LSUÂ have already moved on from their respective coaches.
Meanwhile, a fresh controversy has emerged surrounding media coverage in the sport.
Can You Watch ESPN College Football on YouTube TV Today?
Unfortunately, fans won’t be able to watch any ESPN college football on YouTube TV today, as Disney has not renewed its agreement with the streaming service. It ultimately resulted in the removal of Disney-owned networks, making them unavailable to subscribers.
The dispute arose over fees, with YouTube TV claiming that Disney’s demands are excessive. At the same time, Disney argues that YouTube TV already receives a more favorable deal than its other distribution partners. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, channels such as ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, ACC Network, SEC Network, ESPN Deportes, Disney Channel, FX, and Nat Geo will remain inaccessible until a new contract is reached.
This is definitely disappointing, as Week 10 of college football features a full slate of games scheduled to air on ESPN channels, meaning several significant matchups will be affected by the coverage issue.
On Friday, ESPN issued a statement regarding the situation.
“With a $3 trillion market cap, Google is using its market dominance to eliminate competition and undercut the industry-standard terms we’ve successfully negotiated with every other distributor,” the statement reads. “We know how frustrating this is for YouTube TV subscribers and remain committed to working toward a resolution as quickly as possible.”
This marks one of the first occasions where YouTube TV has actually removed channels from its lineup following failed negotiations. YouTube had earlier disagreements with NBC Universal and Fox. Still, these didn’t cause any service interruptions for subscribers.
What are the Alternatives to YouTube TV for Watching College Football Week 10?
YouTube TV users can access ESPN by subscribing to one of Hulu’s bundle options. It includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, and new subscribers can take advantage of free trials to test the service before committing.
Fubo is another popular option, which offers the full range of ESPN networks along with a free trial for newcomers. Other alternatives include DirecTV and Sling. If you are primarily interested in sports, ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer service may also be a suitable choice.
