5 Players Who Strengthened Their Heisman Case in Week 3

1) Ahmad Hardy, RB, Missouri

Through the first three weeks of the 2025 college football season, there hasn’t been a better running back than Ahmad Hardy. Hardy, who transferred from UL Monroe to Missouri this offseason, had his best game as a Tiger on Saturday against Louisiana.

He ran for 250 yards and three touchdowns before being pulled with over 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Hardy was the top performer in the country this week, and with over 450 yards through three games, he’s a serious contender for the Heisman.

2) Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas

Taylen Green has quietly been one of the best quarterbacks in the country this season. While Arkansas fell to No. 17 Ole Miss on Saturday, it’s hard to fault Green given his performance.

He finished the game with 305 passing yards and a touchdown, while adding 115 rushing yards and another score. With over 1,000 total yards through three games, Green has established himself as a top quarterback in the country.

3) Carson Beck, QB, Miami Hurricanes

Carson Beck transferred from Georgia to Miami this season, and through three games, he has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He did have some sloppy plays in the Hurricanes’ win over No. 18 USF on Saturday, throwing his first two interceptions of the season, but his 340 passing yards and four total touchdowns outweighed those turnovers.

If Miami continues to win with Beck at quarterback, there’s no doubt the veteran signal-caller could be in New York at the end of the year.

4) Haynes King, QB, Georgia Tech

It’s hard to argue that any player is more important to his team than Haynes King is to Georgia Tech. King has been a star for the Yellow Jackets since taking over as their starter in 2023, and he’s playing his best football right now.

Georgia Tech defeated No. 12 Clemson on Saturday, largely thanks to King, who completed 20 of 28 passes for 211 yards while adding 103 yards and a touchdown on the ground. King is performing at an elite level and deserves to be mentioned in the Heisman conversation.

5) Behren Morton, QB, Texas Tech

Behren Morton entered the 2025 season with a lot of hype and was projected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the Big 12. While he played well in his first two games at Texas Tech, he exploded on Saturday.

In the Red Raiders’ victory over Oregon State, Morton threw for 464 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, completing 65% of his passes. With Texas Tech emerging as a serious contender in the conference, Morton will continue to make his case for the Heisman with performances like this.
